What are the elements of a good rave?

in descending order:
nice crowd/good atmosphere
good music (i'd rather have a good local dj than have a big international headliner who plays mediocre music)
good sound system
places to sit and chill
outdoor in nature (and good weather!)
nice trippy deco
chai shop
no securities

A good rave to me is one that alot of my friends turn up to as well as meeting lots of new people.
A large variation in people, style, aesthetic, culture and personality is good, I also love hearing when someone fly's down here to Sydney or drives a heck of a long way just to see one or 2 of their fav DJ's, that rocks and shows your a true raver.

A good mix of happy hard, hardstyle, gabber and hard trance is what I like in a rave even though gabber and happy are'nt my favourite sub-genres of music(some happy hard and gabber is ok though, nothing to write home about) I like other people to have fun to and if thats what floats their boat then so be it, my idea of a good rave is EVERYONE is happy. No dickheads, No lads(if your in the uk a lad here is kinda what Chavs are there, almost identical but id say they have differences, anyway theyre all losers.

And of course MDMA, unfortunately(well not really) my first rave was under the influence of MDMA so I dont think it would be the same without it, its not a must and if I had an event to go to and couldnt get pills id still go but id much prefer it coz I can dance alot better with the aid of pills, I know its cheating :p but yeah GHB, K, MDMA, meth, coke LSD all that shit is good for raving, raves are the one place where I let myself go a little crazy with the drugs so I make the most of it, I refuse to take pills unless im raving so I get the most out of my rolls and my serotonin system doesnt end up fucked in my future life. Raves have actually helped me control drug use coz I know its so much better at a rave than at someones house wishing I were raving or clubbing.

Anyway it seems raving is kinda coming back but also the oldies who are all wrinkly and jaded will always say raves will never be the same as they were in the 80's/90's but I dont care, I have a ball everytime I go and I cant see myself giving it up anytime soon and ive been doing it for awhile. It seems raving is one of the things that has saved my life. I hope I can rave to the grave.

Ive only ever been to massives to so I dont really know what an underground or smaller one would be like, though I dont know whether transmission is considered a massive, its kinda in between, Transmission is one of the best raves ive been to.
