What are some really good informative books about drugs?

the first half of PHiKAL is really informative.

Ketamine : Dreams & Realities is another excellent book.

The Drug Abuse Handbook by Steven B Karch

The Encylopedia of Psychopharmacology - Springer

Food of the gods by Mckenna

Anything by McKenna (and/or his brother Terence) is worth a read/listen. Terrence McKenna Archive here.

Ketamine : Dreams & Realities is another excellent book.

For such a ketafan it's a pisstake that I've never managed to acquire more than one book on the subject :(

The one I did acquire is excellent though %)

Journeys to the Bright World - Marcia Moore & Howard S. Alltounian (full PDF linky linky)

I'm sure I have more... if I can be arsed to delve into me storage spaces a bit deeper 8)

PHiKAL is king but if you're really serious and want informative stuff (which can be used here as HR ;), like The Sun does for UK)
pick up a SUN newspaper nearly every day they have great easy too understand stories namely about legal highs all for just
40p and tits ( . ) ( . ), actual size.

<don't ever expect The Sun to do any good HR or even get the facts right> :|

Storming Heaven - LSD and the American Dream by Jay Stephens

Electric Kool Aid Acid Test - Tom Wolfe

All the ups and downs of LSD culture in two brilliant books.

Expect you've done Junky and Doors Of Perception already. Hackneyed but great.

From the leftfield (ish), Stanley Booth's Stones bio and Crowley's Diary Of A Drug Fiend show the ease with which lives can be eroded through treating certain drugs without respect.

Lots of great suggestions already.
