Myoclonic jerks (aka myoclonus) is the term for when a muscle involuntarily contracts rapidly. Excess serotonin can cause myoclonus so yes, tramadol can cause myoclonus. I've never had it happen from tramadol but have had it from DXM & phenibut & it is annoying. It's a kind of mini-seizure caused by misfiring neurons in the brain or spine.

i get it when i do too big of an oxycodone shot first thing in the morning only though
