Hi!! What about Amitriptyline? Does anyone have any info. on it? My dad gets them in like a 100 qty. at a time. He takes them to help him sleep and my mom takes them for anxiety attacks. What are they really for? My mom has giving me some for my cravings and anxiety attacks. But, I really don't get anything out of them. Do I not take enough at a time? Can you O.D. on em? Thanks for in input you have for me.

Amitryptaline is generic for Elavil...keep it next to the prozac.

I take 150 mg at night - in my case, they were prescribed to reduce the frequency of migraines I was getting. They have a very sedative effect and make you sleepy (there's other side effects such as dry mouth, possible weight gain, etc.). But as far as recreational use, nah.
 
as far as you're question,'can you OD on them'?,
put it this way,the category of medicine they belong too(tryciclics),used to be reffered to as 'suicide pills'.
