I take 400 mg wellbutrin daily, which is the maximum dose. I really could use more. This is the dose the FDA approved years ago when it was first introduced, but clinical trials used doses twice this amount without a significant increase in the seizure risk. (Paxil, one of the most-prescribed antidepressants, has a higher seizure risk.)
When I first started taking it, I would compare the feeling to a mild-but-prolonged coke high. That lasted about a week before I stabilized a bit on the drug. I've been taking it for 2 years now and I cannot function without it. Even the SR seems to wear off in about 6-8 hours.
As for the coke combo, I've never tried coke while not on wellbutrin, so I can't really do a comparison test. If I opt to not take it for 2 days to test the effects of coke, it would be extremely biased because wellbutrin has a very lethargic withdrawal for me.
I like coke a lot and it works just fine on me, maybe even better. However, DO NOT blow wellbutrin alongside your coke. I tried this because wellbutrin tastes so bad and coke would numb me up, and the effects include sweating, nausea, and rapid heartbeat. I thought I was going to die.
