after 3 weeks i decided i don't really need it, in fact i think it has actually worsened my ocd, now psychiatric services here are insanely slow and i won't be seen for another month so i decided to get off cold turkey starting tomorrow.

anyone have experience on this? i'm only going from 150 mg to nothing. i'm planning on stocking up on caffeine and levodopa to prevent weight gain.

3 weeks? That's the full duration of your use? You should be fine, but obviously everybody's bodies react differently. But I would think with only 3 weeks of use at that therapeutic dose, you should be okay. Good luck.

i hope so, i've had many psych meds withdrawals before and the worst one being effexor, i kind of don't want to spend my week off as spud from trainspotting (effexor withdrawal is HELL - it is after all a cousin of tramadol).

thanks for the reply bro :)

Wellbutrin has a long half-life so you should be totally fine, especially since you've only been taking it a few weeks. When I withdrawaled from it cold turkey I only experienced mild irritability. I'm not surprised it made your OCD worse, wellbutrin is a stimulant and known to increase anxiety.

Yeah, bupropion for OCD doesn't seem that clever. But then again it doesn't seem that clever to prescribe it to Borderline patients- yet it often seems to work quite well.

Having only been on it 3 weeks (presumably you didn't start on your 'intended full dose' either) so I don't think you should experience too much, if any, discomfort coming off bupropion. The nausea and insomnia (bupropions 2 main side effects) may persist for a week or so, but if you didn't experience them when you were on it they're not going to happen anyway. Besides, in experience of being shuffled through almost every anti-deperasant on the market and having a bad reaction to virtually all SSRI-type drugs I really did find bupropion the easiest to come off of.

The 'cessation syndrome' (read: withdrawals) from being taken on valefaxine made me feel like killing myself, and a friend of mine did commit suicide while coming off them. Bupropion is a breeze!

Levedopa? Why are you taking this? Also, levedopa should be taken with carbidopa.
