i have been on wellbutrin (antidepressant) and amisulpride (antipsychotic) for many months, i want to take acid but i was told that people on antipsychotics will not trip at all. i want to take MDMA too but i've read that if you're on antidepressants (SSRI) it will not work. since wellbutrin is not a SSRI, would it work? there is a thread here that says that wellbutrin and MDMA are ok and the MDMA will work, is this true?

basically i want to stop taking these 2 meds for a whole week, drop the acid or drop the MDMA and then get back to them. what do you think of this? i have eaten 2g of dried shrooms while on the medications and i didn't trip one bit.

another thing is, does anyone know of the long-term effects of mixing cannabis with alcohol? i have been doing it for years, nothing wrong has happened that i know of. i still do it daily even with the medications, i'd just like to know if i'm in danger because of mixing the two. thanks

I do not recommend you stop any of these medications or take psychedelics or MDMA while on them. You've been prescribed them for a reason, it's best not to stop them to experiment with drugs that can have possible adverse effects for your mental health.

Having said that, taking psychedelics on most atypical anti-psychotics will not work great if at all, Mushrooms aren't that pharmacologically different from LSD that it will have a vastly different outcome. MDMA on Wellbutrin might work, to a degree, depending on your dosage. Some effects will probably be diminished due to the NDRI actions of wellbutrin, but since they're both metabolized by CPY2D6 enzymes, some effects might even be potentiated.

Actually, I just searched a bit for Amisulpride and apparently it primarily works on Dopamine (D2 and D3 antagonist) and not on 5HT, with the exception for 5HT7. So I don't see how much of an effect it will really have on psychedelics. It also has affinity for the GHB receptor, so taking alcohol on it is not the best idea, take caution with the alcohol, don't overdo it. If you have been prescribed these meds for schizophrenia, cannabis also isn't really a good thing to take considering it can exacerbate schizophrenic symptoms.
