Well, this is the last time I'll be around BL for ~4 months

Thats fucked up man, I've been all but there before and it aint fun.
A bit of advice would be to try an get to a bit smaller of a town, saw you're in socal and figure ya mean the big city. Coupla reasons I say that, 1. less crackheads/gangs - i got no problem with the hood but lets be realistic, mr Blood doesn't give a shit if a homeless guy gets mowed down in the crossfire. 2. People are generally less cynical, though straight up pan handlin can be harder. 3. Less homeless! I don't know how big of a town yr in but shit fills up fast, you'd probably have a better chance of gettin into a smaller town's shelter (but not small or suburban for godsakes).
An let me know if you can figure out a way to get some mail through a shelter or somethin, i'll send ya a survival kit (i'm serious, if ya think a cheap ass tent would give ya some options, or anything you can think of that don't cost much, let me know).
an remember, don't get comfortable man, you're just passin through (i know about that too)... Stay safe.
 
You'll be all good dude, I just stress the need to keep moving, find a place where you can receive phone messages and go hunt for work right away. Fall into a rut on the street, brother, and you'll have to climb your way out of a chasm.

i lol'd. i would never go to a program for pot, bro. actually, it was more-so an anti-homeless effort.

well, i've been homeless for almost a month now. this shit really sucks. i mean, yeah, i've had fun here and there. i've learned quite a bit. i've also seen what goes on in the witching hour of the morning with crystal and have stayed up for days on end and slept for multiple days afterward.

i got in a fight with an essay over the weekend, and i'm not going to lie; he rocked my shit. i also had to eat a decent amount of shards that i was getting for someone so i'd have some money in my pocket and was spun out for a few days thanks to being stopped by the police. sorry, but no amount of drugs is worth my freedom, so that dope was eaten with a quickness.

for my own safety and well-being, i'm going to go to Phoenix, AZ to a program that a good friend of mine is in and get myself sorted out. this lifestyle is just too fucking tiring, man. plus, tweaking isn't my thing and that's what the homeless scene here is all about.

live and learn brother, i was legit homeless for 2 weeks out of rehab and spent another 4-5 months in a fucking hotel room after that so i know whats up, just have to keep your head up and not let yourself get down.


STAY OFF THE HARD DRUGS
 
also, here is a fun fact, bishops birth place=phoenix AZ, im sure i left some of my awesome down there, pick it up if you need it.
 
Take advantage of rehab.

Going to rehab was the best thing that could have happened to me, not because I got clean(because I am not) but because it taught me a lot of valuable shit when it comes to dealing with family and people in general. A lot of people go there pissed off and don't pick up all of the stuff worth learning, which is a shame.
