i wrote this for my ex-fiance. not as an attempt to get back with her, just as a way to part properly. any feedback appreciated. for the writing to flow properly pronounce new orleans as new or-leans, as if rhyming with means. new orleans is where we met and spent the first year of our relationship.

We'll Always Have New Orleans

Some days I sit and reminisce,
Of times and friends and girls I miss,
And on these days I always see,
That girl I loved in New Orleans,

A special love, a special city,
A cherished time, a girl so pretty,
The charm, the music, that southern soul,
That laugh and smile that made it whole,
An evening stroll through city park,
Hand in hand well after dark,
And in this life we'll always be,
Holding hands in New Orleans,

And on these days I reminisce,
I often wish for one last kiss,
But although it will never be,
We'll always kiss in New Orleans,

It's in my dreams some nights we meet,
And dance our way down Bourbon Street,
When I awake I shed a tear,
And miss the love I held so dear,
I guess we must have grown apart,
But she will never leave my heart,
Because it's in my heart we'll be,
Always in love in New Orleans.
