i added this:

New Member Introductions is not a drug discussion forum. If you are looking for specific information upon your arrival, please indicate so and we will direct you to the proper forum. In most cases, using the search engine prior to asking your question will most likely provide numerous results.

should more be added?

would it be possible to call on some other smods/admin to look at this? or bounce a version of it over to TPH? i wouldn't mind getting outside opinion on it before we call it final.

you're enough! i just like hearing what outsiders think! :) <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

sometimes it's like having my boyfriend proofread a paper for me. "looks good!" then i find a horrid mistake or something through someone else or after the fact. ;)

1. a shitload of 'best username' posts moved to the other thread. :p

2. great work codi. i like it a lot. i've done some work on it:

  • fixed some typos and changed a few words here and there
  • swapped around your last two sections, so the last one becomes the 'NMI Guidelines', and changed the title to reflect that.
  • added a new greenlighter restriction: they now cannot insert hyperlinks or images into posts. (this change was made just recently to foil trolls and spammers.)
  • stripped out all the html tags. see below.

3. i was just thinking it's a bit pointless having this as an announcement, if TLB is going to modify the header links. we could just add a link to this in big bold letters in the header, saying something like 'read this before posting'.

the main reason for saying this is so it'll just be a link to a post that you guys can modify yourselves any time. the post can be kept in the archive.

4. i don't think there's any need to send this over to TPH. if you do that, you'll end up getting 20 different opinions on things, and let's face it, nobody else does it. i'm sure we can be confident enough in our own abilities to get it right. ;) and with super-pedants like me and TLB on board you won't need anyone else to proof-read it. :p

however, i would have no problem posting it as the finished article in TPH, purely for info.

is that all OK with you guys? :)

I added a bullet regarding the report function. I've seen several established members just tell newbies that they are posting in the wrong forum. Admittedly, we can't read EVERY post or thread that is made in here at times, but I, personally, always check the reported posts.

Maybe that could be a how-to, if it hasn't been done. "How and when to use the report function"

are y'all happy with it? it hasn't been updated for over a month.

anyway, doesn't matter. you can edit it later on yourselves, which is the beauty of my new plan. i'll do it now. %)
