Weird trip with friends while on MDMA

I've looked everywhere to try and find an answer but haven't really found anything so hear goes:
Some friends and I decided to take E at a rave and when we were all rolling there was a weird vibe among us, it felt almost like a trip but it was very weird and almost full of tension. Has this ever happened to anyone? How is it possible that this happened? We didn't do too much E at all, so I just wanna know if this is possible. It was very weird and I know I'm not being very descriptive but all I can say is that the "vibes" were weird and there seemed to be some tension as well as some weird type of trip experience going on among us...

This is very common in a group setting (you have to be very comfortable with all parties) - if a group of friends just got together to roll then there is going to be a tension (on the come down) your not all equal as friends, maybe some sexual tensions showed up, maybe some distrust etc
