Hey everyone,

Now that fall is soon approaching, and the sweaters and jackets will be out I needed to ask if anyone experienced this sensation.

While I'm on whether it be dexedrine, adderall or vyvanse and wearing multiple layers like a t-shirt, sweater and jacket I get this weird sensation in my upper back, and its kinda like ticklish pain that comes and goes. (quite annoying) Maybe its connected to my increased heart rate and body temperature? When i take off the layers the problem diminishes.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have not exactly.

The closest I could relate to is sitting in a position for too long. The muscle tension/tightness, sitting in a position too long and the sweating the amphetamines provides for some weird sensations. Just gotta get up and walk around!

....am I close?

I took adderall/vyvanse for nearly 4 years at extremely high doses. I certainly experienced many odd out of the ordinary sensations while on amps. It could very well be directly linked to body temperature, more specificly external body temperature. Amphetamines tends to make the bodies external body temperature drop due to vasoconstriction. However internal temperatures don't drop, if anything they may rise slightly. Your body could be reacting naturally to the cold sensation on the skin, causing tingles, goose bumps, shivers ect.. This is a possibility.

Whippa craka also brings up a good point that may also be the cause. Amps tend to cause stiffness/tightening of the muscles, specifically neck and back. This can create many different feelings. Keep hydrated to minimize this, also try not to stay tenses up for long periods of time. This is tough while on amps. Often times without even being aware of it, you will sit very tense in your seat, as well as possibly clenching your jaw which can sometimes cause discomfort felt in the neck on into the upper back.

The fact that amphetamines cause a cascading release of dopamine and norepinephrine into your synapses can cause all sorts of unique (and many times unwanted or uncomfortable) effects.

That feeling you're talking about - I also used to get something like that when I was using a lot of meth.

Ohh I love those feelings! Its like a massive shiver through your back. I generally enjoy it but getting really cold hands and feet is annoying.

I've gotten a sensation of my skin being more sensitive and heavy or scratchy fabrics being more noticeable. I have also often had back pain. Not sure if either of these are what you mean.
