Weird occurence while injecting

My experience with Intraveneous use would probably be categorized as newbie status. I have only injected methamphetamine and have done so about 15 times.I used the B&D one use 1cc syringe, and I found them to work very well. I didn't have an experienced user to help me with my first injection, I just researched it thoroughly and had a vivid mental image of the complete injection process. I have only missed one vein, and that was a small vein in my foot. I have since learned from my mistake and have the entire process down to a functional science.
I just injected two carefully measured doses of 75 mg and upon completion of the last injection I could not pull out the needle easily like I was in the past. I would pull the needle firmly but gently and my skin would come with it for about an inch. The needle was caught at a part about an eighth of an inch from the tip. So after an intense 60 seconds of a frustrating struggle, I finally just sacked it up and used more force and was able to remove the needle. Upon exiting, I noticed a small piece of skin was stuck to the needle.
I am wondering why this weird occurence happened. Has this happened to anyone else? From the information I provided, what could have possibly caused this to happen and how can I prevent it in the future?

Sounds like the needle was slightly bent or barbed -- and thus your skin got caught on this imperfection in the needle -- which is not good, as such needles can be quite damaging to veins.
In the future, make sure to look carefully at the tip of the needle to verify that it is straight and free of flaws/barbs. I have had 1 cc B&D needles that were imperfect straight out of the package before -- it's rare but it does happen.
 
Yep, your needle is bent near the tip. This will cause the "scratching" sound/feeling when you stick the needle into the skin and pull back if you've gone though the vein (which I ALWAYS do)...time for a new needle.
 
Get a new needle huh? I tossed the needle across my room into my trash can as soon as I got the bloody thing out.
It was my first time using the needle, and it didn't appear to be bent or have any burrs on it. I guess I shall inspect more thoroughly next time. Thanks for the replies.

Ew reading that made me cringe!
the way i test a needle to make sure it's not barbed is to run the straight part of the needle (the side without the hole) gently along my CLEAN fingernail, if it straches the nail at all then you dont want to use . Does that make sense?
