i've noticed since i've started using, that i have really weird intense, life like dreams, especially when going through withdrawls, and i always fall back into whatever dream i am having. its not really bad, because i like the weirdness and intensity of them, gives me something to talk about the next day

but i am just wondering if this happens to a lot of ppl?

p.s. my friend that never used to dream whose been using with me is having weird ass intense dreams too

I've been a user for quite sometiime but barely have experienced these very real full color and sometimes horrific dreams so I been researching and found I'm not the only one but nice to see I'm not but I'm puzzled to why this has only started last couple weekd when I've used for almost 2 years only smoked never through interveines...

Same here, very strange and lively dreams, even after being clean for some weeks, the freaky dreams continue.
It seems a lot of expieriences that have gotten surpressed by opiates, are dealt with during the night.

Allthough i prefer those dreams, to my Öpiate-useing-time dreams.
Like looking for a bathroom to take a shot, but only finding bathrooms with no doors!lol

^ huh.....i never really dream. or atleast that i remember. i find it weird that all of you are dreaming.......

i once had a bad trip out in mexico.....was alcohol, benzo, zopiclone, and opiate WD..... full on dilearium....seeing shit....hearing shit.... i was in another world.....scared the shit out of my parents hahaha o my.....

Yea my dreams were way more intense when I was using, sometimes so intense I would wake up next to my girlfriend crying, only times I ever cried in front of her were from dreams

I think its crazy that u don't remember your dreams, I remember most of my dreams when I first wake up or at least small parts of them

Ever since I started using opiates i've had tons of premonitions about drugs, if I ended up having a dream about coping pills or dope I knew for a fact I was getting whatever I dreamed about that day, its hard to explain

opiates are like the least psychoactive drug Ive ever come across, even herb is mildly psychoactive. But what if opiates are the most psychoactive because they totally reinforce the illusion we call life, opiates are aligned with our beings, its the perfect drug because its like huge beast of a drug but its suttle like the wind. you know what built the pyramids? it was people passing out opium saying it was a gift from the gods, and it gave them enough power to move mountains and carve 1000ton bricks right out the ground. this drug is capable of letting us enslave our minds to our own will, peace brothers ima catch this crazy train and take it for a ride

^ lol....it is true that opiate addiction is powerful, and can completely take over your being...

suttle as the wind sometimes....

ive read about this, and in short what seems the most likely cause is the fact of how hard it is to enter actual REM sleep while on opioids.
when you do finally enter REM, after not for so long, it is common to be startled awake by the abruptness of the onset from trying to 'force' it before the 3-4 hour mark as you naturally do, or if you do make it naturally, your dreams are that much more intense and vivid.

that sounds interesting. do you have a source for that?

im not like being rude or saying your wrong i just would like to read more about it. thanks.

I had dreams while being totally clean, and i dreamt i was hooked again.
Sufferin the anxiety of having to go through withdrawl again...
Waking up was great then....and surely a relief!

a link no, i didnt just go and read this, but studying the drug, us, sleep patterns, and how opiates affect sleep; this is what i learned, and experienced to be the case. the other drug i know of that has the same effect is alcohol, although most any psychoactive drug will affect your sleep somehow, alcohol and opioids inhibit REM specifically.

i try and not dose too soon before sleep because of this, there is info out there.
nothing profound or mystical, just science.

im on my way to bed, other wise id dig up some info.

lucky, i have had maybe a hand full of dreams in the past year since i started using oxy. maybe like said above it was because every night i was passing out instead of falling asleep?

Nice to see the conversation open up..I to have woke up cry'n thinkin a loved one is dieing or have waken up just being frozen unable to move but as you said a relief to be awake and it doesn't nessecarily happen during use its seems to be a withdrawl period through the night because I wouldn't use closer to bed feeling this was causeing the dreams but they seem to be more intense towards the period I'm about to wake up then once startld by the dream I wake up suddenly relieved but sweaty and stiff feeling anxiety I always save some relief for the morning but this dream stuff is killing my program I miss the days of a good night sleep and the sadness is to stop there's no sleep for a timebeing aswell double negative id guess ha ha thanks all for your imput helps out a lot!

in so many words, thats it.
it really ads ellusion to delusional.

i would hear alot from "older people" i would drink with or around, that i want even going to be sleeping, just passed out... after hearing that,,, a lot, i looked into it, physiologically, and yeah its another domino.
