Is there anyway to support the use of drugs (as a person who supports them by using them and reaping the benefits) without letting others know you use drugs?

The implications of admitting substance use go across the board and generally stir up a bunch of shit.

I would just love to be able to deprogram the masses and get them to understand that all a drug does is make your body and or mind function differently.

Drugs are not inherently wrong in any belief system due to the fact that everything is a drug that interacts with the body.

There is no set normal behavior for a human being, just trends and preconceived guesses or observations that are themselves biased.

yeah im pretty sure addiction is the main reason recreational drug use isnt supported. if heroin or meth were just as sociably acceptable as cigarettes and alcohol there would probably be a lot more drug addicts (like there arent enough of us as is haha).

however both cigarettes and alcohol are just as bad as any other substance. its pretty hypocritical and ignorant if you ask me. imo alcohol feels terrible and boring compared to opiates and even stimulants. thats probably why its legal, lower abuse potential, though i guess thats even arguable seeing as there are plenty of alcoholics.

one day i hope that people will be more open minded, and not just about drugs. the world would be a much better place if everyone respected other people decisions and choices. i actually just got into an argument with my friends girlfriend because of her talking shit on my drug problems. its just not right.

When I was in inpatient treatment, a majority of the alcoholics looked down on the opiate abusers. I had plenty of discussions over cigs about how their substance is "legal" and my DOC was "illegal"....I had to explain to them that a drug is a drug is a drug and we are both in the same facility for addiction, what makes you better than me?

Kinda funny now that I think about it lol.

But I think if people aren't down with drug use you shouldn't tell them. There are a lot of cool people that are down with using drugs - talk to them about your experiences/use drugs with them. For the sober & straight crowd just kick it with them and keep the comments PG-13.

Some will argue that drugs kill the "soul". There is truth to this. You take some kind of drugs & it makes you oblivious to your surroundings & to others feelings. It can make you a better person or it can make you a terrible person. Obviously if you get addicted & dont get the drugs you need to continue on your course, you will become that bad person who will do anything to get those drugs, hence becoming somone that you would not have become if it wasnt for those drugs.

As far as discussing drugs use with the str8 edge crowd, I wouldnt comment too much about you using. Even with friends that only smoke weed, I brought up the discussion of opiate use & they looked down on it & said they would never use pills to get high, strictly weed because it a natural herb so I just pop a pill & smile at them w/o saying anything. Funny how demonized opiates have become in our society, I suppose like handguns, they also kill people.
