So a couple of months ago I stayed up 3 days and nights after using amphetamine sulfate, where as one of them with a friend of mine playing video games. After this reckless bender, without sleeping of course, I went to a football game. Before noon I was obviously not in the best state and felt anxious and slightly paranoid so I took a couple of zopiclone to calm my self down which was successful. Anyway, back to the main point of the story. After arriving at the game I could hear my friends voice coming from the speaker on the stadium, before it shifted back to the voice of the person actually on the speaker. Same goes for conversations I overhead around me which also seemed to be distorted into the friend of my voice. At a stop a grocery store on my way home the same thing to happened, while I also so LSD like hallucinations when the rain hit the asphalt and made beautiful snowflake like patterns.

During the experience I was not particularly anxious or odd behaved to my great surprise and relief. However, the experience was a weird one especially the distorted conversions. Has anyone else had similar experiences which such hallucinations, and could these have been provoked by the use of zopiclone. I know the combination of sleep deprivation and stimulant use by itself can cause some eccentric experiences, but I wanted to share this story and here if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Sorry to hear that man. I've had auditory hallucinations since around my first use of ( in my case meth). Do you mean distortion as in you can hear someone talking but can"t understand what's being said? I get that sometimes with the voices I hear, in my case I just write it off as something I wasn't supposed to hear at the time. I wish you the best and if there's anything else I can help with let me know. I'm sure someone with more facts will be along shortly lol.

It was like I was hearing someones conversation and voices warped into my friends', and he was like talking to me. Then story after, like 5 seconds, I heard that it was just someone having a normal conversation. Maybe more of an misinterpretation than a distortion, but I could clearly hear what he said although I don't remember now. Things luckily went back to normal without anymore auditory hallucinations after a good 14 hours of sleep, I will never push this far ever again that's for sure. The danger of damage was made very clear for me when it comes to this kind of abuse.

You are still having of auditory hallucinations are first use of meth? Man that's scary and I'm sorry to hear that. Do these happen all the time or are they more of an episodical thing?

Only coke for me, but the psychosis has been totally random for me and what you experienced is totally within the realm of possibility. Some of mine after staying up too late on a binge:

full visual hallucinations of creatures moving around and watching me (sometimes recognizable as rats or rodents, sometimes interpreting at something weird and hard to describe. coming down, I realize it was just objects I was misinterpreting)

music playing would sound like somebody was whistling along with it

high pitched ringing at random times

shadows moving around and reacting to the music that was playing

garbled radio noises, as though I were listening to a radio station with horn-like instruments and a different language that wasn't placeable

shadows of people walking everywhere, like transparent more than shadows

It would always go away with a little sleep, but it's hard to sleep when you have some left. Do yourself a favor and take a break so that you feel better. It is a fucking trip. Another weird thing was being unable to recognize certain objects. I'd see something on the ground and have to take a minute to figure out what it was, and my guesses were just complete nonsense. Almost like a stroke, from what ive heard.

Sleep Deprivation causes many side effects (CNS/Physical etc).
I know this sounds obvious, but ultimately IMO, this might be the issue.

Quit doing meth if you are hearing voices its not for you buddy trust me the people who hear voices alwase end in tragedy no cap

Better use benzodiazepine instead of zolpidem/zopiclone. These so called Z-drugs are known for causing hallucinations or delirant state quite often.

Yea, this is pretty normal. The hallucinations will typically begin as auditory then progress to issues with your vision then psychosis is the end stage. This is pretty textbook for having been up for 3 days. I´ll start having wavy vision after a single night awake.

This makes complete sense. You had 72+ hours without sleep, then you took a Z-drug and stayed awake. Just that second part alone can cause hallucinations of all sorts.

Yep. A low ACH brain can treat GABAergic's as a deliriant & double dose, It the real reason to not drink while on Benadryl/DPH even If you feel fine. The most brutal visual I got trying to sleep was having some demonic mimic scream nonsense as my mum while kicking my bedroom door open with the upstairs light on. Forcing me to stick doing DPH in the daytime or using It as a buffer for DXM.
