w/o even counting calories, i bet.
a few weeks ago i started being stricter in my diet and it's been 90%+ paleo/bulletproof style diet - it took 2 or 3 days to adjust from my 'mostly paleo' to full-on diet, but after that felt sooo much more energy, am sleeping better, runs are always great/intense. it's crazy.

PI- how strict are you?

I haven't counted calories nor portion controlled in at least 7 years. I am not strict. I drink beer. I used a tbsp of soy sauce in a glaze. I eat the occasional Clif bar. Not all my protein is grass fed. Perhaps in 6 months I will have a visible 4 pack. Too bad nothing brings back skin elasticity. I lost 20 lbs about 10 years ago.

I log my food intake daily (occasionally only with rough guesstimates, I admit, but it's a useful habit in discovering how calorie-overloaded some foods are). It's not that uncommon for me to be well under 2000 cal (anywhere from 1200 - 1600) without feeling starved, deficient, or hungry. I'm working on moderate cardio activity of 30-60 mins some 3-5 days per week and follow the very basic "listen to your body" rule; I eat when I'm hungry, I drink when I'm thirsty, and I'm averaging a loss of 1-2 pounds per week. I guess I'm trying to say that if you feel good the numbers are only numbers.
