I log my food intake daily (occasionally only with rough guesstimates, I admit, but it's a useful habit in discovering how calorie-overloaded some foods are). It's not that uncommon for me to be well under 2000 cal (anywhere from 1200 - 1600) without feeling starved, deficient, or hungry. I'm working on moderate cardio activity of 30-60 mins some 3-5 days per week and follow the very basic "listen to your body" rule; I eat when I'm hungry, I drink when I'm thirsty, and I'm averaging a loss of 1-2 pounds per week. I guess I'm trying to say that if you feel good the numbers are only numbers.
