Supplements Weight loss supplements that actually work?

I just stick with good ol' green tea. It boosts your metabolism, acts as a diuretic, and the l-theanine helps to counteract the caffeine anxiety.

There's also evidence that it can help cleanse and protect your liver, which could be helpful for anyone on steroids, alcohol, Tylenol or anything else that can be hepatoxic.

Ephedrine and Ephedra Sinica tea have worked wonders for me in combination with eating barely anything and exercising. The only appetite suppressant I've tried that works. Tried a few otc ones, some kinda cactus, something that supposedly blows up enormously and is made out of fibre. A few other things I can't remember. I've lost 4 stone since last summer. 2 more stone and I'll taper off and watch my munching like a hawk. The only side effects I get are always being thirsty and being sweatier than usual when exercising or doing something sweat inducing.

24mg 2x per day. 2 cups of green tea with a tea ball full of Ephedra Sinica inside it. I also use a caffeine tablet before exercise and cialis for the vasoconstriction (ahem) and blood pressure increase. Citrulline is amazing and should be taken by all.

I've only got good things to say about ephedrine and ephedra because I strictly followed the instructions and basically did it properly.

You can drop dead on the floor though, nasty nasty poison beware <- Just so I didn't get a told off for not pointing out potential negatives.

Congrats on your weight loss. I gotta how you source ephedra sinica? Do you get it from a vendor or is there a product you use that you like? I love tea and would like to give it a go. Though I noticed you used stones as your metric for weight, so I may have issues on this side of the pond due to the US and our love for making meth lol

Just ordered it off ebay, Chinese Tea it's called. Might struggle in US. Meth has never been a problem drug here in the UK and was Class C (less illegal than weed, same as steroids and certain pharms) til a few years ago.

Please be careful, I really do cringe when I see people buying weight loss supplements off eBay or anywhere and have no idea what’s in them. If you don’t know what’s in something I would highly advise against taking it.

I know exactly what's in it, it's written on both label and website - 100% Ephedra Sinica.

The pills are 8mg Ephedrine with no other actives. Trust me I wouldn't buy something if I didn't know that (well apart from all the random crap in food n stuff, but whatever Trevor lol.)

Don't do dinitrophenol (dnp). It's probably the most harmful way to lose weight outside of taking a knife to your own fat. It makes your mitochondria waste energy but a decent amount of that energy forms free radicals and damages mitochondria. It's literally a poison.

Never heard anything good said about that one. Even with ephedrine I was bricking it even though I used to be obsessed with stims when I was younger. I'm not far off my target weight now thank god so it'll only be about another 6 monthsish realistically on just 2 doses of 24mg a day (less at first) and a couple of cups of ephedra tea per day. It's done exactly what I wanted and needed it to. Not that i'd recommend it cos a lot are prone to misuse or side effects, but it were perfect for me.

I've been looking into glp-1 receptor agonists as I've heard some promising stories about them.a popular one is trulicity

I've got a long list of stimulants that I have binged which caused extreme anorexia as well as compulsive redosing and other various problems. It really isn't a safe way to do it. I think that's really true if you're overweight too because that means taking the stimulant for longer periods.

Trust me all "weight loss" pills have minimal to no effect. Even the most effective ones work out to help you lose maybe 3-6 extra lb per year all other things being equal

The only truly effective routes are:

- appetite suppressants given that they cause you to physically eat less. Most legal ones again are only moderately effective

- DNP, highly dangerous and illegal to sell for consumption. Difficult to dose and can cause overheating and death quite easily. However it increases your thermal and caloric output by something like 40%. Used alot in professional fitness circles i think. It does work very effecticely but in my opinion I'd literally rather take amphetamines for weight loss due to the associated risks

Lots of Phentermine and you will look like a skeleton --That I am sure of! Work out constantly and throw down Choline and Inositol and pounds will disappear in weeks. All Bodybuilders know the tried and true secrets of shedding fat and weight in weeks.

Amphetamines work if you work with them. It's the only thing which reliably makes me forget to eat but I wasn't overweight and appetite tends to be stronger with more body weight so I can't guarantee but they sold amph to lose weight in past decades. Bupropion + naltrexone might workj too but naltrexone is evil.

@plumbus-nine don't wanna derail the thread just wondering why you think it's evil? I was gonna ask my psychiatrist if they can prescribe me it - naltrexone. Even pm me if you can. Cheers.

Do any weight loss supplements actually work?

Surely the only reliable way to lose weight is to work more, eat less?

Luckily, I've never had a food addiction so weight control has never been an issue for me, but I consider overeating to be worse for your health than any drug addiction.

It's the bigger cousin of naloxone, both are potent opioid inverse agonists and I once accidentally snorted just 2-3mg of naloxone from a combined tilidine/naloxone pill - thought one would need to inject for the naloxone to work but snorted does as well - without having an opioid tolerance at all, and it was the most disturbing drug experience so far on par with a psilocybin overdose. Maybe it's just me, one isn't supposed to feel much from naltrexone but the imagination of 24+h of this hell frightens me. UltraLowNaltrexone is a different thing though if you're interested in this, it should be pretty risk free.

^Cheers for the info! I'm in recovery from alcohol abuse and read that it can help. I once snorted an 8mg sub with no tolerance to opiates. I didn't OD though thankfully not that I cared at the time due to feeling so good.

I've managed to lose half a stone already and I haven't done anything different other than stop drinking booze since last month. Chuffed. Been drinking quite a bit of coffee mind you which suppresses my appetite.

@iTry91 Somehow I'd try baclofen first, some people swear on it for to get away from alcohol but it might be just me, most people seem to tolerate naltrexone more or less well. It will kill your ability to feel pleasure from e.g. sports though. It's weird how different people react to substances.

Yeah, booze is heavy in calories. Some people forgot to eat while they binge on alcohol, and besides vitamin deficiency the alc gives them the energy they need. I myself put on 10+kg without eating more than before but just cause of drinking. And now the fat's here, specially around the belly, and it's here to stay. But you seem to be on the right path when you already lost some. Wish you good luck!

Yeah naltrexone sucked for me and ruined my mood for days until the pill wore off (they wanted to do a naltrexone challenge before I left rehab to see if I could hop vivitrol).
Dnp I would not recommend as it can be misdosed very easily and lead to a very bad time as from what I've read, there doesn't seem to be any diminishing returns in effectiveness and effects are strong even at the "therapeutic" range. Risk of overheating among other things is definitely real from my one time running it. I still have a bunch of 125mg capsules left over from 4 years ago that idk what I wanna do with them, maybe do a small study for research at my school.
Clenbuterol is tolerated well by many people and does have a prominent fat loss component as a beta adrenergic agonist. Since it's prescribed as medicine there is a lot of safety data with the compound and whatnot. Just start LOW with pharma or vet grade if possible since it is dosed in micrograms and overdoing it is NOT a good time.
