Weighing RC on Scales

It is common knowledge that you need a sensitive scale to weight RCs, however what would work best to weight the RCs in since the powders seem to fine that the cling to a lot of stuff (I'm guessing mostly by static electricity). Aluminum foil seems like it wouldn't be smooth enough. Maybe wax paper?

Capsules are by far the easiest, in my experience. Weigh the capsule, remember the weight, and then add substance until you reach your desired dose. For example if my capsules weighed 100mg and I wanted a 20mg 2C-E trip, I would add until I reached 120mg.

Hope this helps.

That's basically what I have done in the past, just wondering if there was maybe a better way I wasn't thinking of.

you shouldnt have to remember the weight of the capsule, couldnt you tare the scale and then add to it? Id just use rolling papers or something and make little bombs to parachute, when its that little substance.

In the B&D Scale thread a few people mention that they don't trust the tare on their scales so I've always been weary.

I NEVER use tare on any scale. I've never had a scale I trusted it on. It's best to take cumulative steps in the math and write it out, so you can reproduce the same measurements of mass in the same order to verify that the same figures show up at each stage.

Some others mention it as well. Not sure if it's true but I follow this advice I've never had any problems and my dosages always seem on par to what I've researched.

Another benefit of the capsule would be ease of transport.

When weighing out individual doses, a capsule or small piece of paper for a parachute are logical options - if it's hard to move such a small amount of powder around to measure it, it would be a pain to then transfer it again to be ready to dose. If a capsule or other container you can just pre-weigh and then drop the material into is out of the question, wax paper has served me well in the past. Whenever possible, I prefer to use liquid dosing to avoid these sorts of issues, but with some compounds that is a less ideal solution.

Just weigh them in the large end of a gel cap....

The weight of it will vary by size and brand im sure but if i recall correctly O sized caps, the larger end weighs something like .055g.

So if you want have 10mg of whatever in that capsule. Add powder until the scale reads something like .065g. Or that would be with the caps i use....

Also, weigh everything twice and get the same number twice..... If your scale is jumping by 10-15mg, you should not be using that scale...

Weight

you would be surprised to see two ( or more ) identical baggies or capsules that were from the same lot; weigh very differently...each capsule would have to be weighed seperately...3 or 4 mg can make a difference...
