weekly 2-d art competition

ok, you have a point.

however this isnt what i want for this contest.

the photo of the eye sucks ass. yours is good. thats why im giving you shit, because.... well its a photo. and i could make those modifications in an hour....

im gonna change the rules to no photos allowed in round 3. this will solve all the problems were facing.

this thread is about working in an actual medium, as in, designing it yourself. using your hands to make the lines. not just cropping/smoothing/coloring.

yours is still a photograph in my opinion, chrissie. you did not design that work, you did not create any of those lines or shapes. thats why it bothers me.

Have you ever done any digital art? I don't mean pulled up photoshop and clicked a filter, I mean really manipulated and designed something? The attitude here towards digital art sucks.:|
 
yes i have. im pretty experienced in photoshop. thats about it. but its not that hard at all...

neither of those 2 photos (the lady or the eye) qualifies. thats exactly my point! theyre BARELY edited. i could do that in an hour.

how about this: photoshop is fair game IF you provide the original photo, AND they 2 photos arent congruent. SOME manipulation needs to go on.

do you understand where im coming from?

There is alot more to photoshop than simple photo editing and applying effects. if you dont know that your not very experienced in photoshop in its entirety.
 
thats the reason photoshop is allowed.... the rule just wasnt followed, obviously because i wasnt specific enough.

i was not clear enough that editing skill isnt the point of the contest. the new set of rules clarifies this.
