im not a photographer. i love to draw. this weekly thread will be pretty much the same as the photo contest, if it catches on. here are the rules:

each friday (tentetively timeframe might vary), i will post a theme.

you can post 1 original image of whatever medium you feel like. no un-altered photography (we have a thread for that ;)). obviously, the work must be your own. you MAY photograph (without editing) pieces of art that you have made, for example: sculptures or pieces too large to fit in a scanner.

images must not already be in the bluelight gallery. lets keep this fresh.

the thread will stay open for a week, closing at midnight (approximately) a week after its started.im changing this rule. it will stay open for 9 days at a time.

images are limited to 700x700, and will be compiled in a polling thread each friday.

voting will take place during the weekend, ending at midnight on sunday.

this weeks theme: THE HUMAN BODY

next weeks theme: SUGAR, SPICE, AND EVERYTHING NICE
go!

but just like using my camera phone in the photography contests, i like a challenge

"ride the race cars...
dance in fire..."

-shiny toy guns

"QE" ...how stupid of me.

I just wanted to point out that there is going to be a great disparity between the quality of the work that someone made just for the contest and past work that someone had months to work on.

I'm not sure if that makes any difference but I feel sort of discouraged entering something that I know won't be able to compete with oil paintings that someone spent lots of hours on in comparison to something that I can create in whatever time i can find during the contest time period.

Perhaps you could eliminate the problem by posting the future themes in advance so that people can have more time to work on their entries.

Or not...just a thought...
