EDIT: removed SWIM

Ill keep this really really short. I'm pretty young, I own my own company, I have A LOT going on in my life and I was REALLY depressed before I started taking them. So I am just worried about how to taper so that I don't rebound to more depression. I am in a pretty good mood and have some good things that have happened to me recently, but the underlying depression is a factor I wish to point out.

-not using any other subtances came across some zanny. so i consumed them by eating them.

All were taken spread out, sometimes 4mg at once though.

Day 1: 7mg
Day 2: 9mg
Day 3: 4mg
Day 4: 12mg
Day 5: 4mg
Day 6: 6mg
Day 7: 2mg

Total: 44mg

im starting to act manic, a little psychotic and very compulsive.
Vision flickers when entering a dim-lit room, but don't really notice it once i stops thinking about it.

i just want to know if I'm ok and how to safely have all of it out of my system, not take any more and do so without withdrawals or negative effects. By that I mean taper-down.

We don't use SWIM here. It makes your posts hard to read and doesn't protect you legally. Plus we all know you're talking about yourself.

You should be okay but you're talking about pretty high Xanax doses here....you should check out the Ashton Manual (assuming you have access to longer-acting benzos such as Valium/diazepam).

Ok thank you, i don't have access to those, just a decent amount of this zany left

Make a plan to reduce your dosage slowly, over a week or so. Since you're at 2mg now you should start there and then slowly reduce it down to 0.

Morning? Noon? Evening? I suppose I should check the guide you are talking about. Zanny is short-acting (4hours i believe) . So as far as tapering down over the next week or so, the question is when to take the smaller doses. Thank you for your support. I really appreciate it.

It's hard to remember. I have a LOT going on in my life that keeps my mind running all over the place. It was throughout the day each day. All over to be honest.

Those are very high doses of xanax without a tolerance. Good you have taken less. If you have become dependent … even in a short amount of time you might be experiencing some interdose withdrawal, especially with a short 1/2 life like xanax. I've had vision issues happen, but I was on lorazepam ... a long time ago.

Can you get a hold of some diazepam or even better clorazepate? Or some gabapentin? You might want to introduce some otc meds, and amino acids to slow things down as the sympathetic nervous system will be more active.

Also, really important to know is that a reduction of 50% is still 50% even at a low dose… Good luck! :)

Man I just last month got into a very nasty habit of xanax to the point of take over 20mg at a time. I lost days and eventually weeks of time. Than had to quit cold turkey and I have never felt more on the verge of death in my life. I was scared. You really need to tackle this now before it gets to the point of no return. Absolutely follow the advice about tapering. And I don't think you should have any major complications.

You cold-turkeyed off of that huge amount NOT under a doctors care? What a scary ride that must have been.
Yeah benzos are a strange and tricky medicine. I was using them with the intent of abuse so that was my first mistake. But at a much smaller does of about 3 mg a time. Then they start to play there evil tricks and make me at least forget different periods of time. Which results in forgetting you have taken any before. Actually refusing when someone tells me otherwise. And you don't even really believe you are high after a certain point. All ending in me being to stubborn to seek help and quitting cold turkey. It was the most miserable wd's of my life

I hope you check out the ashton manual ! benzos are not for long term use and will only make things worse ! It may feel nice wile taking them but in the long run it will cause harm in the form of memory loss and really bad decision making ! best advice taper down to .25 and stay away ! if thats just not what your going to do then i recommend using only when absolutely necessary! benzo addiction is a really destructive force in ones life

Xanax is so short lasting you notice the rebound so quickly, get small amounts of longer lasting benzos like valium/phenazepam, they pretty much do the tapering for you considering the 200 hour half life

We need more of a history in order to give you the best advice possible.

What was your usage like before this week-long binge? Have you been physically dependant on benzos before? Are you on other meds?

Just take a little bit like 0.5mg when you feel your freaking out a bit and basically just try to take the minimum amount possible to feel normal and taper down. Its not like you've been on it months only a week.

Well, you said it's only been a week, I would just take something like .5mg a day or 1mg then get lower, but it's only been a week so if you feel you can just go ahead and stop I would...the past 6 months have been a blur for me really because of me consuming large amounts of Xanax/Klonopin/some valium...up to 15mg of Klonopin or xanax a day but mostly around 8, it wasn't a daily thing but due to the long half life of klonopin(and Val) I guese taking 15mg of that at a time then up to 40mg of valium, guese it just stayed in my system, decided to tackle this lil bugger the past month before it got way outta hand, and I think i'm finally getting that rebound shit, sooo anxious all the time,blah...got 22 klonopin with the intention of taking small amounts, then stupidly took all 22 in 24 hours so got another 20, and made those last about a week. Benzo's can sneak up on ya QUICK if your abusing them, so anyway, it sucks but good luck. I've been outta the Klonopin for like a week now, have been having rebound like a bitch, ughhh.

Edit: Have been taking 15-20mg of valium every 2 or 3 days when the rebound anxiety gets too bad...and it gets bad if you already have anxiety, that's why I say to go ahead and just stop or just take a very low dose when you feel like your jumping outta your skin/irrational etc...
