weed, xanax and driving

Your using two drugs that slow reaction time and cause clouded thinking. When combined they are no doubt worse. Whilst .5mg is not alot in terms of recreational value, I am sure it would have a noticable effect on reaction time. benzos in my opinion would be just as bad to try on as booze.

for your own safety and for the safety of others on the road, I would not drive on either benzos and/or weed

i can smoke weed and drive fine, but is about 0.5mg of xanax or more with weed fine to drive with?

I'd reaaaallly recommend against doing this.

I'll admit to having driven once or twice where I was somewhat concerned I might be still too under the influence, and at least once where I'm sure I would have tested positive on a roadside drug test (middle of the night, no traffic, 5 minute drive, I still think it was a stupid thing to do in hindsight), always felt guilty for having done it later on. Helps that I don't have a car so if I'm driving I'm driving someone elses car so if I can't drive they usually can.

I'll even agree that there's a bunch of arguments you can make about how such and such drugs are still better than driving tired, that the laws are inconsistent and unscientific etc etc etc.

But fact is, weed's one of the three they test for at roadside drug tests, it's just a really stupid risk to take that could burn you really badly. And god forbid you actually did end hurting someone. I don't know about you but for me that would be a real hard thing to live with.

Fuck me?

No fuck you!

If marijuana really was safe to drive on they wouldn't be testing for it with those busses.
But I guess the only way you will learn is when you hurt someone.

"... The results to date of crash culpability studies have failed to demonstrate that drivers with cannabinoids in the blood are significantly more likely than drug-free drivers to be culpable in road crashes. … [In] cases in which THC was the only drug present were analyzed, the culpability ratio was found to be not significantly different from the no-drug group.”

Is that really wrong?

This is a harm reduction forum and we can't condone or encourage people driving under the influence of drugs. Driving on either cannabis or xanax is potentially very risky, let alone both at the same time. Everyone reacts to drugs differently and so there is no way for anyone else to tell you whether or not you will be impaired past the point you are able to operate a motor vehicle. If there is any doubt then the best bet is to refrain from driving under the influence of drugs (something you should really avoid 100% of the time to be honest,) as it is not just your life that you are putting in danger but also the lives of others on the road with you.

I think the OP's question has been answered so I am closing this thread.
