weed smoke damage?

People have probably fucked their lives over everything you can name - that's not the point. I've had a couple friends who have lost student loans and not going to college because they were getting caught constantly with weed. I've also seen kids somehow addicted to weed. Couldn't sleep without smoking a bowl, couldn't eat without smoking a bowl. Don't kid yourself, weed can be abused, no doubt and you must be in control of your usage. It's certainly not horrible for you but smoking a couple times a day every day is by no means good for you.

CuDLife - I also know many people who are heavy smokers of both weed and cigarettes. I once worked for a guy who literally ALWAYS had a lit cigarette in his hand or in his mouth. I honestly never saw him without one. He must have smoked close to 2 packs a day, and he started when he was in his teens. He is now 70 something and has no real health problems. Some people can just smoke anything and everything anytime and anywhere for their entire lives and never have any significant health impact caused by smoking. However, I know someone who got lung cancer at 54, and they only smoked for 5 or 6 years in their late 20s and early 30s. Everyone is different, and genetics plays a big role. Chances are if a lot of your family smokes and has smoked back through the generations with little or no health problems, you can too. But that is by no means an exact method of determining how much damage smoking will do to you. Ultimately, the act of inhaling any burning substance whether it be weed, tobacco, wood, grass, etc, can only be detrimental to your health. And despite the fact that your lungs do recover somewhat, they will never be as good as before you ever smoked, no matter how long it has been since you quit. In addition, your lungs can be permanently damaged when the tissue in your airways scars, and it is even possible to literally burn holes in your lungs which are never repaired. Another form of permanent damage is in the destruction of the cilia, which are responsible for cleaning the lungs and repairing damaged tissue, is irreversible. Once one is destroyed, it never grows back. Go look up any facts on smoking from a LEGITIMATE source (cross referencing is the easiest way to check legitimacy), and you will find everything i have said to be true, and then some.

Actually the cilia do regrow once someone quits smoking. I learned this in health, science, and biology classes all throughout school.

Using the logic of this thread i'm gonna start smoking meth - I mean it's just like an energy drink really except it does a different kind of damage to a different part of your body. Probably almost as retarded as the chocolate/weed analogy.

See, it's not hard to be a damn retard.

Smoking herb is not good for you and it's not like eating chocolate, a dessert, or sweets every so often. I'm not sure why that person came to that conclusion?

Inhaling hot smoke and burning plant material even herb isn't good for your body. Tobacco is even worse. However now there are vaporizers and while even inhaling vapor that's completely THC is not 100% healthy it's better than inhaling hot smoke full of tar and carcinogens.

I have a friend that told me how he only smokes joints since he read a study done by either MAPS where they claimed that smoking a joint is just like vaporizing since the joint is constantly lit and this somehow makes the herb vaporize.

This is a link to the study: http://www.maps.org/news-letters/v06n3/06359mj1.html

I do not agree with him or the study but another study should be done since this one is from 1996! There are also now a lot of different vaporizers on the market now.

I've smoked herb and hash a variety of ways and have vaporized herb and the high from smoking herb and from vaporizing it are different because you are getting only THC if you vaporize correctly. I know some people who vaporize and like CBD mixed in so they adjust the vaporizer's temperature so the CBD comes out. Or they'll eat the vaped herb in an edible and vape some to get CBD but I don't do this.

Plus with the wide variety of vaporizers that are now sold and that are easily affordable you can find one that suits your needs and that works well and you don't have to spend a lot of money on a Volcano brand one to do this.

I know people eat herb but IME it's not always that easy to control the dose. When I did it I naively wound up eating about 3g of it since I figured I had to since I'd been smoking the same stuff all week in joints and it was schwag. I have friends who ate herb in edibles at lower doses and they said how it didn't make them stoned like you get from smoking herb but they just felt tired.

Vaporizing is akin to eating herb in edibles at a large dose, since you're only getting THC but unlike with high doses of herb in edibles it's very easy to function, move, and walk around.
