my eighth is smelling up my dorm room its in a mason jar any buddy ever put there weed in a refrigerator or is that a crazy idea.

Sure, a cool dry place is fine. Just make sure it's not too cold!

In future try and get a jar that's completely air tight and doesn't seep out the smell. I have a sizable amount in a Kilner jar and it doesn't let smell out at all.

Your mason jar is not closed tightly enough. Tighten the lid down better. I've seen several ounces of stuff, which fills the room with the smell of weed when it's so much as opened, yet which does not smell at all inside it's jar.

IMO, a classic mason jar is better than the kilner jar - with the kilner jar, if it's not closed tightly enough, there's nothing you can do. It closes exactly as tight as the little latch will close it. You can close a mason jar more tightly by just tightening the cover with more force.

I also wouldn't really recommend storing weed in the fridge, due to the possibility of condensation (depends on the moisture content of the air inside, and hense, of the weed). Condensation on one's weed would be undesirable, as it could encourage mold.

I know people who keep bud in the fridge and some who keep it in the freezer. The fridge shouldn't hurt it, just make sure it's in an airtight container.

I used to have a guy that had a minifridge just for keeping his weed. He had pounds in there too and it never smelled till he opened the fridge so I think you gonna be okay. But you shouldnt have issues with mason jars so long as its sealing all the way properly, that what I always used in dorms.

as long as no air or moisture can get into your container you'll be alright. in fact it will store better and longer in the frig as compared to at room temp.

i have heard that it can take away from the smell of the herb and the taste if you store it in the fridge or freezer. But i do know a ton of ppl who do it

If your weed has any moisture in it, then it's a bad idea. However, if you've cured it and it's dry enough, then it's okay to put in the freezer rather than the fridge. However, I consider myself a 'weed enthusiast' (I hate the term connoisseur, since it sounds pretentious), so what I would reject many others would happily smoke.

You probably have resins and odors on the threads to the lid or somewhere else on the outside of the jar. Try cleaning it or using a new jar.

The fridge will be fine, until, you open it.

I have extremely stinky weed and get this problem all the time. I usually have to be extremely careful having it around. I clean the lids to my jars too because the get keif in the threads.
