Weed gives me anxiety, but what about weed mixed with ativan?

for everyone thinkin im gonna become some sort of benzo crazed addict n end up suffering major withdrawal i take about .5mg so half a 1mg tablet every 3 days so correct me if im wrong but i dont think thats considered enough to give me any sort of addiction

Edibles. I had the same panic/anxiety problem with smoking herb, and edibles work wonders for me with no ill effects. Benzos are very useful, but are just a band aid and not a solution. Edibles were the solution for me. Hash based, oatmeal bars or whatever, by avoiding the plant material and smoke, I'm anxiety free.. Can't believe nobody else suggested this...

Hey guys i recently had a huge Panic attack with a really bad strain of weed(looked like WHite Widow) but my anxiety and panic got alot better over time so i decided to smoke again just a less potent strain and i did alrite got a pretty decent high and the anxiety came back but only a little bit so im wondering if i take an ativan(lorazepam) before tokin would that keep my anxiety at bay or would the weed stop the ativan from working :?

Try smoking lower grade weed and smoking less of it. Strong weed = bigger chance of you freaking out.

I'm also wondering cause i dont wanna become immune to the lorazepam either will i ever experience withdrawal or become immune if i take .5 mg every other day?

You guys are deluding yourselves if you think taking a small amount of benzo won't give you addiction issues.

It's about length of time - not dosage. I took .25 xanax daily and had hellish withdrawals after 6 months.

The reason this happens is simple - your brain is lazy and decides since you already have it covered with medication they it doesn't need to produce the chemicals that would naturally plug your GABA receptors which control your anxiety a alertness level among other things.

This is why withdrawal is so hard. Much like opiate withdrawal.

Moral of the story - benzos are fine but don't use them on a daily or semi daily basis for any amount of time.

Ps. I have anxiety and panic attacks too - but as you wean off benzos your body will kick in and you will be able to live off them much better than the hell during wdl

I've had ridiculous, crippling anxiety and paranoia from weed for about 6-9 months. Hallucinations too after binging or combining. Although these days, I can't feel much from it. I had white widow just the other day :P it was a nice whitish-green.

Anyway, yes lorazepam will lower your anxiety provided you have a low enough tolerance and a high enough dose (this also happens to be the only benzo I use these days).
But I don't see why you'd do it if weed already gives you these side-effects (on top of which, it's just a bad drug which makes you stupid. Do I sound ignorant? look in the mirror... asshatfuck. I wonder why you (whoever) believe it's so good. Maybe it has to do with the weed's 'positive' effects on your brain and the pothead community ;))

Nevertheless, you have the king's answer

Iv always wondered why I get really paranoid and bloodshot eyes from one puff of green, but I can handle solid fine...is there something in green that solid doesnt have?

Not to mention, adding drugs will only cover up the apparent symptoms, but it will create a chemical soup of brain damage in your brain, which will only take longer to heal afterward. It doesn't just "reverse" the brain damage, at best it'll help psychologically, short-term.

Benzos will most definitely kill the anxiety associated with weed smoking, but it's just a band-aid. In the long run, you will have to either quit smoking weed or get in touch with yourself and really learn to handle your thought processes and all that bullshit. For the acute treatment though, yea benzos are great for getting rid of panic attacks.

Shorter acting benzodiazepines like Ativan (or Valium, Xanax, etc.) are great in combination with marijuana, regardless if you suffer anxiety or don't. It will calm you down and provide a better high. Don't take Ativan every time that you smoke though, benzodiazepines can produce hardcore withdrawal symptoms.

Shorter acting benzo like Valium =D=D=D=D : I think it is a joke

it is the LONGER acting BENZO on the Market with Ketazolam, Medazepam, Nordazepam, Prazepam,...

If you don't know what you are talking about please write nothing !:X

I'm currently taking it as I speak, in which I take it everyday for Klonopin withdrawal. It lasts roughly 4 HOURS! I hate it when people believe just because it has a long-half that it lasts so incredibly long. THAT IS FALSE! Half-life is the period of time it takes for a substance undergoing decay to decrease by half. It doesn't refer to the actual "duration of effects"! I know plenty of people who only experience roughly 4 hours of effects from it. I've read from people on this site though that do experience a day of effects but I post from personal experience.

PLEASE DON'T POST GIBBERISH TO SOMEONE WHO HAS PLENTY OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCE! :X

I have a 10 year addiction to benzos...I know perfectly what I'm talking about.

Ativan and Weed is one combo I have tried. I ended up forgetting most of the experience and having to take numerous naps. But the euphoria was insane.
