i read that tobacco decreases trhe effectiveness of benzos,i plan on taking valium, xanax and smoking a joint.

will the tobacco nullify the effects of the benzos? or will the weed enhance the effects<?

This has been asked a lot actually.
Tobacco (and the compounds contained in it) doesn't decrease the effectiveness or the strength of Benzos, but it does speed up their clearance time i.e. They're removed from your bloodstream / body quicker than they would usually be.

As for Weed, some people find that too much can cloud the very subtle effects that Benzos give but some people love the combo and wouldn't do one without the other.

It's a Q. of personal preference really.

So you're telling me that smoking a cigarette will make the benzos last less time then they should?
By how much are we talking here? A single cigarette? I assume it wouldn't be much, maybe five minutes at max...

Some find that tobacco slightly lessens the benzo experience, so if you're taking them at low doses (or don't have lots available), you might want to reduce the amount of tobacco you smoke along with your cannabis.
As for the weed itself - some people find that benzos nullify the more pseudo-psychedelic effects of cannabis, especially with sativa strains, in an annoying fashion. This is true to a small extent. However, they will also effectively remove feelings of paranoia (if you are prone to such feelings) and definitely add some sedation and slight euphoria. It must be said, however, that as low benzo doses are quite subtle already as they are, weed can easily "overpower" the benzos so you can barely tell the difference - it changes from time to time and I'm not really sure if I think taking a low dose of a benzo with weed is nice or not. Higher-dose benzo and weed is great.

Benzos tend to go best with heavy indica stuff - gives you a really nice body stone and mental calm.

I agree with the above poster. When I take around 2mg Lorazepam and smoke a joint I can tell that it feels much different then smoking a joint by itself. It removes a lot of the weeds propertys (mostly the bad ones, also) but overall it increases the high by giving you a stronger body high and as Psycho said, some euphoria.

Yeah, to be honest I've never realized a difference while smoking a cigarette, probably because I take the benzos sublingually (Ativan), then wait 25 minutes, go smoke a joint, have a cigarette and just come home and chill out. I usually don't have a smoke after that for about 2 hours.

I've never had a problem with cigarettes taking away the effect but if you look up benzos in certain pill books they actually mention that smoking weed will enhance the effects. And it does.

Yup. My classic couchlock-state at one point in time was 60-100mg of temazepam, some bong hits and a couple of beers. Keeps your ass flat against something.=D

I personally feel like weed kind of increases the effects of Benzos, & vice versa. I know a few other people who experience those same effects as well, but I'm sure it's largely something that differs from person to person.
