Anyone know any dedicated film forums? This place is OK but there's not much traffic and the discussion is quite limited to American films.

Looking for somewhere with a broader disccusion range, focusing on Hollywood and World Cinema in all it's diversity and brilliance.

Thanks. :)

what countries' films are you wanting to discuss? Start a thread about a foreign flick and I guarantee that the flock will come, since there are many people in this forum who are fiends for foreign films and make it a point to keep them on their "to-watch" list if they haven't already seen them. :)

I personally think some of the most interesting films come out of France (i.e. Romance).

Their neighbors crank out some pretty good ones as well. Recently, a German film called "The Counterfeiter" came out and it was great - the acting, the story (taking place in a concentration camp right before the Germans waved the white flag).

IMDB is terrible in my opinion. The problem with the majority of film discussion forums is that they tend to be heavily populated by fanboys. Since bluelight is a drug forum, the ratio of fanboys(and girls) to normal people is a little more tolerable... But then you get threads about 'The Price is Right' and similarly appaling programming popping up on a fairly regular basis. So you can't really win.

I really dislike most of the French films I've seen. But there have been some decent discussions about them on F&T. Like captainballs said - try making a thread and see where it goes.

Whenever I make a thread on 'foreign' films or non mainstream blockbusters in here there is no interest.

I don't want to discuss particular or specific countries films, I love world cinema in all it's diversity and brilliance and would like to find a forum which embraces all types of cinema and has varied discussions, all I can find at the moment is ones which focus on Hollywood and maybe has the odd topic on a big foreign release. :\

IMDB is terrible IMO.

Seen some wicked French films, Innocence and Angel-A being the most memorable. Two exceptional films. Another good film is Hidden (Cache).

Now, that board is dedicated to silent movies. But the regular posters are EXTREMELY knowledgable an all aspects of film history. If I'm not mistaken, the director of the film archive at UCLA is a regular.

I don't want to talk about 'film history' so to speak just discuss current releases from around the world.
