Hi there. I am new to this site so I cant post a new thread. I have been weaning off opiates for 2 weeks. I got myself down to a very low dose. 4 percocet per day from heroine. I got to the run out day of percocet and jumped off the edge to using nothing. I went one day, waited until I was in withdrawal which was slight because of successfully weaning down so much. I had one 8 mg suboxone that a friend gave me. I took 2 mg yesterday at about 6pm. After reading some posts on here I am scared I've driven my tolerance up again. It worked great. Restless legs gone. I feel normal. No cravings. I'm just wondering if I can now use the remaining suboxone I have to slowly wean over the next few days? How strong is suboxone? Can I wean down now in very slow increments so I have no opiates left in my system and avoid the dreaded depression and lingering wd's that last days?

Turned this into your own thread for you. Also you should be able to start new threads by clicking the NEW THREAD button at the top left when viewing a given forum, with the exception of the lounge, and the blogs section, which you must have bluelighter status to use.

Thank you. Im hoping for someone to respond:)
I would suggest jumping off. I know that may sound like I am lacking empathy and understanding, but I think you may just be dragging out your Opiate use longer than you need. I quit a 400mg Oxy habit and a copious amount of Bnzos habit, I went through hell no doubt, but, I tried the tapering method using extended release DHC and I found that to be unsuccessful.

How long have you had an Opiate habit?

Hey, I myself am new to this site as of 5 minuets ago. I ve always googled questions I had and always ended up reading what came up from this site. Anyways, I have a similar problem, well not a problem but I'm worried. I took my last 3 dones Tuesday evening. I'm still waiting for withdrawals.. It's been over 80 hours..I had a 7 year norco habit. The last two weeks and a half I went thru 45 dones, stopping on Tuesday. Y aren't I feeling wd's yet? If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

If your Norco is 10 mg, it looks like you were taking about the same dose I was. I have been using 120 Norco 10's every 50 - 70 days, for several years. Sometimes, I will use 4 - 6 tablets per day, for several days in a row. But when the pain is not that bad, I only need 1 or 2 per day to manage, and some days I do not take it at all, with no withdrawal.

My doctor says my dose is fairly low, and usually not a problem, though the idea of addiction scares me to death, because some family members have abused various drugs. But my doctor says the amount I am taking is actually pretty small, and not usually a problem, unless someone is prone to addiction or dependence. It is highly individual, so maybe I dodged the bullet of my genetic curse.

So...maybe you did not actually get physically addicted? After 80 hours, perhaps it is time to count your blessings, and be happy. Good luck!

You can start by seeing how bad withdrawals are, and then decide if you want to just jump off or try to use the sub. If you feel you can go without suboxone, you will surely make recovery faster, but if you have stuff to do and you don't wanna be sick, i think that even 1 mg would be enough, buprenorphine is quite potent. I would suggest to make a liquid solution of the suboxone so you can gauge doses better and go lower and lower everyday (and if i were you i would take sub only when withdrawals kicks in), but at the end of the taper, even at minuscule sub doses, i think there will be some depression or minor wd's like chills and coldness and restless legs, there's not much to do.

yea if the WD is bad, use the sub pill to taper in half each day till its little bits, thats how strong it is. Ive detoxed plenty of times with one subutex and clonidine. subs are really strong just remember dont take them when you have any opiate in your system. not fun.
