Mescaline has worse potency than that stuff,
I know you're comparing mescaline to 2C-T but, from my investigations & discussions with researchers, I must conclude that mescaline is a weakly active prodrug. This was alluded to in a 2021 article on 3,4,5 series (involving Daniel Trachsel). They rightly noted the disparity between mescalines very low potency yet propensity to create a powerful psychedelic experiences.

Anyway, the point is that it's final aminated metabolite(s) is fairly potent, potentially in the range of MDMA.

Seems clearly psychedelic to me, although it is surprising, given that 3-DOM (the 3-methyl instead of 4-methyl isomer of DOM) has severe loss of function in the animal model.
It shouldn't be too surprising given that TMA-4 overlays the potent 13-OH-LSD. It also overlays 5-MeO-isoDMT. Adding dipropyl as per the 2-aminotetralins, PRO-LAD or DPT would probably be interesting.

I find this area pretty interesting and glad we have people poking around with the LSH and diving into the ergine-related alkaloids.
Kash (from dmt-nexus) did excellent pioneering work with LSA seeds. His preferred tek for ingestion involved lemon juice and peppermint oil which, as it turns out, act as ALDH inhibitors (ALDH = aldehyde dehydrogenase). I don't think peppermint oil contains any relevant % of acetaldehyde so the whole peppermint LSH thing is not correct imo. The anti-emitic qualities of menthol are helpful too.

Imo that detail highlights the relevance of endogenous aldehydes; as do the well written posts by user downwardsfromzero (see dmt-nexus) who wrote at length about the relevance of aldehydes in LSA effects. He focused on acetaldehyde but the user lysurgeon (dmt-nexus) experimented with other aldehydes and reported his findings. This was a decade or so ago.

I'll be honest, if the only psychedelics we have on Earth are these seeds then I sill believe Nature graced us. Luckly we got the mushroom and cactus too.
I'd add to that list allylbenzenes found in fairly common items. In the Philippines elemi is abundant. Likewise Sassafras in the US... and mace/nutmeg, basil, anise, cloves, tarragon, dill etc. I think most probably dismiss those as myths but they don't realise researchers Oswald & Peele investigated & elucidated how their biotransformation produces amines (ß-aminoketones to be more precise). These aminated metabolites overlay several known classes:
  • tryptamines
  • ergolines
  • tetrahydropyridinylindoles
  • piperidinylindoles
  • phenethylamines
See studies for elemicin, safrole, myrstricin.
