Seeing as SHM is getting his glory i thought i'd throw this one in their

Glad to see Bresnan in the team , i think he'll do well at Trent bridge .

TT Bresnan 21 6 48 2 2.28
TT Bresnan 12 2 48 5 4.00

TT Bresnan c Dravid b Kumar 90 146 118 17 0 76.2

When he first came on the scene i must admit admit i didn't know alot about the lad , but he has been a revelation.
Lively pace , swings it , not affraid to bowl long spells , and knows how to hold a bat for sure , i can see him being a fixture in the squad for a long time.
When Finn was injured in OZ , Bresnan really stepped up , the lad seems to play with no fear of reputations.#

As for cook well he's the new Dravid if u like but an English one. Already passed Vaughns test runs record.
Future test captain probably. I remember him getting that century on debut in india when he was called up last minute, when india had Kumble et al on a proper sub continent pitch .

Its all well and good getting runs in England but when you can make the big scores in Australian , Sub Continent conditions thats a sign of true greatness.

Jesus, 710-7 dec?! The 3rd highest ever score from an England team!

I gotta say that I am sad that India haven't put up more of a fight. If they were Bangladesh we'd be saying they don't even deserve to have test status! Yes, India r tired and lost their best bowler but is this how little they have in reserve? Makes u wonder how they ever got to No 1 in the 1st place. Tendulkar, Laxman, Singh (both of them) have all been particularly bad. And Sehwag?! Poor bloke... If we lost Anderson and Broad then we'd still have Tremlett, Finn, Onions etc, etc, strength in depth is making us No 1.

India just look like they wanna go home, it's an embarrassment if ur an Indian I reckon. I'd be bloody furious, tired team or not. Disappointed that the hype has been a lload of balls, India r shit. I was looking forward to a real test and some tough competition. They'll lose this one by an innings and a lot of runs IMO.

They got to number one by not playing any of the top sides away from home in the 2-3 year period it took them to get there, ergo it was a lucky run of fixtures. Ok they played SA away recently and got a credible 1-1 but only once they had already got to numero uno. IIRC they only beat WI, Banga's and NZ away in the period after they beat us in 2007 1-0 on their 'rise' to the top. Think that is right anyhow, if not it's close to it. Home form has always being decent mind, they like playing on dust bowls.

Watchin India on the 1st sesh
It's like someone has said

"If u don't go out threir and At leasy act like your a decnt team , otherwise u can't paly on tht IPL

Honestly they actuallt look intrersted in the fielding for gods sake

I say act cos they are n't a decnt team natualy anymire as i'm typing Sreesanth got a wckt of Strauss

So That was one of the most disapointing Indian teams in recent history. I don't think they had enough room for egos , imagine what it would be like . they are all millionaires even the journeymen from a few overs work in the IPL.
It will ruin Indian test cricket at this rate. Why bother with the long game if u can make a foutune bowling 4 overs or Swing a bat without even proper technique. Improvisation is the most necesarry skill in t20.
I think we have the West Indies next , not sure who the next test is against.
I see Australia are winning in Sri Lanka , a damn site easier since Murali's retirement , how long before thye Government command him out ?
Like with Jaysuria , well he is part of the govt.

What a brilliant line. And yeah, totally agree. In a nutshell.

Anyone on the India England game atm ?

India getting their revenge in the short form , they are tonking us looks like game over in the next over .

I predict a whitewash for us , we ain't got the nous for the sub /cont pitches n spin.

Dismal as i predicted we are getting slaughtered, Big difference beetween Sub Cont. & Nice green english wickets .

Dhoni is a phenomenon he has set a record for amount of runs scored , being n.o.

THe Fix

So what s the clue ?

Big ? ;)
Is Mohammed Asif on GEAR

Well he has been caught with opium b4 so hes got form n was said to be nodding out in the dock according to the Metro.

Seriously though it s massive and i think that Butt may get jail time captain n all.
.Salman Butt Was from a good family and was very well off didn't really need the money just greed .

The young lad AMIR 17/18 i think he was during the series, went guilty & i hope will get to pay test cricket again, as a kid in that dressing room you would do what the captain tells you or risk being dropped or worse.

Asif well he is an excellent bowler 2 in the world at one point , 28 so near his peek why did he get gready , that annoys me because i enjoy cricket & i like watching him bowl so its like he has let me & other fans down really badly.

any other opinions on this %)

Discussion for the gambling thread surely? After all, it's just not cricket...

Tip of the iceberg mate. These are just the ones who got caught. Wahab Riaz, still playing in Pakistans last test, is, erm, compromised on that NOTW sting video - he gets a jacket with 10K in the pocket.

But there's no way this is just the Pakistanis. Cricket was made for spot fixing. And we know some of those Aussies love a bet.

I feel sorry for them tbh, Amir at least. And yeah, Asif was caught with opium at Dubai airport wasn't he? How can we not be on his side? ;)

The Asian sub-continent betting market is worth $50 BILLION a year btw.

EDIT - Amir pleading guilty when the other two didn't is also interesting - and not looking good for Amir. He went into court this morning with a different defence, trying to say he wasn't leaned on by anyone. This suggests he is now being leaned on even more, possibly by Butt, to make sure some of the blame is deflected from Butt.

For international relations its hard to see any of them going to prison. Butt is certain to get a heavier slap though.

Yeah , disturbing , thought he was doing the right thing going guilty but know it looks very sketchy.

Also how could i not forget the most erratic wicket keeper in Test Cricket , K. Akmal if hes not in on it i'll be surprised , how can anyone be that bad , his brother Umar also keeps wicket & by all accounts is better but yet when called upon comes up with strange excuses as to why Kamran should do the job.

23 wickets in a day8o , Australia all out for 47:Dhttp://youtu.be/pLf7warZxQM

Steyn Or Anderson who do you think is the best quick in the world atm ?
In English conditions Anderson for me but Dale Steyn is a beast .

A shame Malinga no longer plays tests as he would be up their as well.

Pakistan cricket not in the best way atm , so here's some Stump shattering deliveries from the Rawalpindi Express , my god he was quick when he wanted to be 97/98 mph, with a brilliant slower ball

View dismissal SR Watson lbw b Steyn 4 2 3 1 0 133.33
0.3 lbw! Gould's given him. Watson hung around a bit wondering whether to review but decided against it. He should have reviewed it, replays indicate the ball was going over the stumps. It was full and straight, but Waston got a long stride forward as he tried to drive, he missed and was hit just above the knee roll. It didn't look high to the naked eye to be honest. Steyn is pumped 4/1
View dismissal PJ Hughes c Rudolph b Morkel 9 35 22 1 0 40.90
6.4 caught at slip! The procession continues! Or does it? Did that carry to Rudolph at third slip? More work for Billy Bowden, the TV umpire. It was a short of a length ball that bounced sharply and seamed across the left-hander, squaring Hughes up. The ball hit the shoulder of the bat and went to third slip. It was dying on Rudolph as it reached him but he seemed to just get his fingers under the ball. Close call but looked like it carried. 13/3
View dismissal RT Ponting lbw b Philander 0 23 12 0 0 0.00
5.3 Lbw! This time Ponting reviews it! Mayhem at Newlands. Ponting moves forward and across to play one that pitches on off stump and angles into the right-hander. He misses and gets hit on the lower part of the knee roll this time. The umpire gives him out and Ponting asks for a review. Replays show the ball is hitting the stumps. Australia are two down. 11/2
View dismissal MJ Clarke* lbw b Philander 2 16 6 0 0 33.33
7.3 lbw! But Clarke reviews the out decision. Billy Bowden, the TV umpire, is being made to sing for his supper. Philander seams the ball off a good length from off stump and beats Clarke's drive, the ball hits the top of the back pad. Replays indicate it's clipping the top of the stumps and that's all South Africa need. Australia 15 for 5. 15/5
View dismissal MEK Hussey c Prince b Morkel 0 1 1 0 0 0.00
6.5 caught at gully! This is truly bizarre. A loose shot from Hussey, driving off the front foot away from his body at a full ball slanting across his off stump, the thick outside edge flies to Prince at gully. He could have easily let that go. Poor stroke. 13/4
View dismissal BJ Haddin† c †Boucher b Philander 0 14 3 0 0 0.00
9.1 caught behind, a bizarre shot from Haddin! He backed away and made room to a short of a length ball and tried to drive inside out on the up through the off side. The bounce was too high and he edged it to Boucher. This is extraordinary. 18/6
View dismissal MG Johnson c Amla b Philander 3 20 12 0 0 25.00
11.2 caught at point! The ball was short with width outside off stump, it was there to be hit, to be honest. Johnson cracked it off the back foot but straight to Amla. Australia on course to be dismissed for the lowest Test score ever. 21/8
View dismissal RJ Harris c Smith b Morkel 3 7 7 0 0 42.85
10.4 caught at slip! Harris is no match for this ball. It pitched on a length around off stump, bounced extra, seamed away a little and hit the outside edge high on the bat and flew to Smith at first slip. Easy catch. 21/7
PM Siddle not out 12 37 16 2 0 75.00

View dismissal SE Marsh lbw b Philander 0 5 2 0 0 0.00
11.4 Another review. Philander thinks he's got him lbw! He has! The ball pitched on a good length in line with leg stump and went straight on, Marsh came forward and played across the line. He missed and was hit plumb in front. The umpire said not out and Philander wanted the review immediately. The only doubt was whether it pitched outside leg. It did not. Philander has a five-for on debut. Australia are a wicket away from being bowled out for the lowest total in Test cricket. 21/9
View dismissal NM Lyon c de Villiers b Steyn 14 29 24 1 0 58.33
17.6 caught at cover, it's all over. Again. Lyon simply chips a good length ball in the air towards AB, who moves forward and dives to take a low catch. Australia have been shot out for 47. 47/10
Extras 0

Total (all out; 18 overs; 95 mins) 47

That's the third time in 16 months they've been skittled for less than 100. Happy days. =D

I see that the Indians have prepared a super batting friendly pitch in Mumbai , could this be for the benefit of a certain Mr Tendulkar and his quest for that 100th Century , nah shirley not8)

Well he's got 33 runs to get n tbh if he doesn't get them on this wicket he probably won't.

Yeah agree with you Brimz. Though I suspect he will get those 33 runs tomorrow.

Been following Darren Bravo? If he were to get 1 not out in the 2nd innings he would exactly match Lara's stats after 13 tests. Three or four tests later, Lara scored 400. Bravo's equivalent match, barring injury, should be on a batsmans paradise in Antigua against Australia apparently...
