Ways to kick dope....

I feel you on that, but some people get anxiety from pot so I didn't recomend it. Alchohol, like any depressant, will numb the shakiness and can be useful. Try to stay away from stimulants though as they can aggravate the situation.

Cold Turkey is the only way you'll ever appreciate kicking dope in my opinion and you'll come out a stronger person.

I wouldn't go back in time and kick my habit any other way. I learned so much about myself and fear, I wouldn't trade it for the world.....

yeah I would, the world, but not for a million dollars.....alright I'll stop....not for 10000 dollars......I can say that with faith:)

In my honest opinion the easiest method to kick dope requires immodium and benzos. The immodium will keep you from shitting all day long and the benzos will keep you from staying awake all night and will eliminate that "worms under my skin" feeling. Dont dread withdrawal, its just a part of using opiates. Just like death is apart of life, eventually its gonna happen. Keep your head up, don't put a lot of pressure on yourself either, just stay focused, take the immodium, drink as much hot tea as you can and try to eat something. Good luck and God bles.

i hate these pro-cold turkey people. Fuck that, you should make wd's as easy as possible, the psychological addiction is hard enough. i'll take all the help i can get when i quit, but that just aint happeneing.

ahh, you quitters.

is it just me or does the above post make no sense at all?

and nice post, platinum. i too think its important to realize how significant the mental aspect it, and how that aspect CAN be controlled, making w/d much easier...

i too dont beleive cold turkey is necessary, there is no need to go through all that pain and discomfort unless you have to or if you only have a baby sized habit.

Please note proponents of CT method: cold turkey has the highest failure rate for opiate WD than any other method. The best method to date is to transfer to BUPE then taper.

Why set yourself up to fail unless you are a sadist and enjoy the feeling of cold turkey?

Cause in my opinion, 5 day detoxs, and taking other drugs help, but to ever really overcome your fear you need to face it. I went to 15 detoxs, and never made it more than a couple days afterwards. I also did the rehab 3 times, did the methadone maintence, did the taper down, did the benzos. And I never fully was able to quit until I moved to a foreign country for 3 months and faced the music.

I'm sure Bufe works great, but this wasn't an option when I was quitting. All I am saying is that facing your fear is the only way to overcome it. At least for me and some of my friends.

I really felt like such a pussy after finally doing it with no drug intervention, vitamins were used. It is not that bad.

It's like riding a rollercoaster, once you get on for the first time, you realise that it's not that scary.

Cold Turkey doesn't mean no drugs, immodium and advil are great. But once you kick you'll realise that fear is what hinderd you.

If your addiction is not that serious, cold turkey can be a good way to go. Some of these so called "tapering" methods just prolongs something that, if you arent a HARDCORE addict, isnt that bad anyways. By the 5th day you will already be seeing the light. Its just i see people get on clinics with buprenorphine and methadone for stuff like tramadol and hydrocodone, and they trade a relatively minor addiction, to constant daily habit. Things like methadone are really LAST ditch efforts, for people that are EXTREMELY addicted to an opioid (in regards to maintenance).

21 day detox programs with methadone are fine, they seem to work ok.

But getting on a maintenance program with methadone is very serious. Buprenorphine still is addictive, and bupe maintenance still chains you down.

Given you are completely PSYCHOLOGICALLY prepared to get off opioids, then cold turkey using loperamide and benzos can be a relatively painless, and more importantly QUICK and effective ordeal. In a week the physical will be over, and the loperamide really helps with this.

I admit that I'm scared to go cold turkey - I've felt this with-drawl and its no minor thing. This is like my 5th or 6th time coming clean, The first few times were painless. The last time I used Loperamide and it helped quite a bit, This time Loperamide don't seem to be doing much at all. And for some reason, I feel like I just cant function properly with out some sort of opiate in my system - Which I know is not good. Hopefully I can get past that.

My question is still in the air - About the 50ug/h patches. Call me a pussy all you want, But I need to find a relatively painless method to get off this shit. My habit is not small, 8-10 bags a day. I figure if I can use the patches for 4 days or so then switch to Loperamide, I'll be good.

Also, I recently found out where I can get 120mg of liquid methadone for $50. I don't know much about the liquid methadone - Or how to taper myself off with it.

First off, kicking from a bundle is a bitch. Now with 120 mgs of meth you can taper yourself real easy. You'll need either a graduated cylinder or just your works to measure it accurately. Take 40 the first day, then 30, then 25 the next, then 20 the next, then 15, then 10, ,then 5, then 5 and I believe that's 120. You'll still be fairly sick at the end, but nowhere near like a bundle a day habit. I wouldn't dare kick a bundle habit cold turkey. Then use the loperamide and use should be fine.

Be strong and seriously try and do stuff, the meth will take all the pain away in the worst days, so don't try and convince yourself that you are sick.

You might want to split dose the first couple days, like 20 and then 20 or 30 then 10. Good luck.

bad idea

I'm all about the cold turkey method combined with ample cannabis & liquer.

i have never had hardcore w/ds, but I've had some minor ones, and drinking the night before was the worst idea ever.

i woke up combination of hung over and w/ding and it sucked so bad. i woke up at 6am in constant pain and i couldnt get back to sleep because my head hurt so much.

then being the crazy fuck i am, i managed to go outside and run after throwing up some.

a little alcohol is ok, but getting drunk doesnt help. dehydration, headache, hangover, bad news

I'm a smoker - I can't even smoke a cigarette while with-drawling. Makes me feel so fuckin' shitty. Makes my already upset stomach turn even more.

Alright, Well, I've been wearing a 50ug/h patch for almost 17 hours. I don't feel like I have any narcotics in my system. I'm not getting sick either - So its keeping me from getting sick, And its a small enough dose that I don't feel anything from it whatsoever. Its been 46 hours since I last used any dope.

Is this a good thing or no?, Am I gonna be let down easy after the patch runs dry?.

I would figure a way to taper even farther, maybe take of the patch for a few hours at a time. I'm not sure if that's a good idea but maybe someone here will know more than me on the subject.
Your doing good man, keep it up.

ahhhhhh....the joys of kicking....so much fun aint it??

no seriously though, it does suck, but like a few people have said previously in this thread, alot of it IS mental....I've withdrawn from a bundle a day habit, all the way up to a screamin' near-gram-a-day habit many times and believe me, it all sucks....BUT, I've found that the times I'm detoxing and keeping active with school, work or excercise (I know you're all like EXCERCISE?? Is this kid on crack???) no.......just smack....but as hard as it is to even think about let alone do, it does help keep your mind off feeling like shit....I've found that the times I just lay in my bed and feel sorry for myself end up being the worst withdrawals.....even when my habit isn't that bad......I personally find that the wost part of the whole thing is the depression that comes along and kicks you in the head, so keeping yourself busy rather than staring at the ceiling and flailing about in your bed definitly goes a long way in helping you to feel better....but that't just me.....good luck though!!!

Thats good to hear, But, What kind of good luck?. And how exactly did you do it?. I took the patch off about 7 hours ago. I was beginning to feel very weird, Kind of disoriented. I don't really feel sick right now, Which is great, But odd. I thought that fentanyl had a half life of only a couple hours(?).

Regardless, I took 10mg's of loperamide about 30 minutes ago - Hopefully I'll sleep good. I have work in the morning.

If anyone can offer anything else, Please do.

I was worried that since the patch was basically a constant flow of opiates into my system that it might actually make it worse. But then again, Since it was such a small dose, Maybe not?.

Smoke alot of weed
Take alot of benzos

wait for the worst part to be over

stay the hell away from all opiates

smoke more weed
