Hey everyone this is a RE-post of my formula I made for someone back in the day. It has become popular around the site so I wanted to get it out there. This is not a thread to debate if it works or not so don't start. It's just for info, plus I have the books to prove it :p.

Happy "High-ing"

Really? As a med student I can tell you, that you are wrong, (and I would like to know you "experiment") it is not useless. You might like to know that narcotic opioid antagonists are broken down by the liver protein CYP3A4 and that grapefruit juice counteracts that protein causing a slower metabolism of the drug.

For everyone else who would like to try something good here is what my studies have found:

- 1hr before dosing- 8-12oz 100% white grapefruit juice
- 30 min before dosing- 30mg Dextromethorphan
- 0 dosing time- take drug of choice
- 30 min after dosing 4-10oz 100% white grapefruit juice
- 30 min after dosing- 38-50mg diphenhydramine

I should explain the last one....it is commonly found in OTC sleep aids. And can be safely combined with grapefruit juice It will work on two levels
1) As a booster for the opioid
2) It is a for of antihistamine which will help with the itches

Hope this helps!

P.S.

Be careful with the DXM and Grapefruit juice it has been know to boost Benzodiazepine's to a much higher degree so exercise some caution, I have done it and have had no problems but I can't stress this enough EVERYONE'S BODY IS DIFFERENT!

The best trick is personal knowledge of your own body

Be safe

I've only known grapefruit juice to work with benzo's, not opiates. but I could be wrong. I just didn't notice anything when I took it with my opiates, and I've also never read anything about it in any of the papers that come with my scripts of opiates, and I've been scripted morphine, oxy, and hydrocodone. I have however felt the difference with benzo's and grapefruit juice, and even read it in both xanax and valium papers that come with the scripts as I've been scripted both of those before aswell, currently scripted both valium and morphine.

I’ve been drinking white grapefruit juice before taking opium meds, not the way the OP described but off and on for a couple weeks now. I first read about it on the forums here a couple weeks ago. (I think the original thread was from like 05’)
I think there’s something to it; I seem to feel the morphine I take (100mg ms contin) a little stronger and a little longer

I don’t want to go off topic here but just as a side note: I have a script for a completely different drug, not an opiate, but on the pamphlet they put in the bag at the pharmacy there was a note about NOT drinking grapefruit juice with this medication. I googled it and it said something about how the grapefruit juice metabolizes in the intestines or whatever and interacts with certain drugs so I’m sure it has some kind of affect

TokinDerrick not to sound like a troll, but trust the DOC brother we just covered this in my pharmacology and A&P refresher class

Please look around the site next time before acting like you're some godsend bring novel information. CYP450 inhibition for potentiation purposes as well as the benefits of using dextromethorphan and first generation antihistamines are common knowledge around here and you can find hundreds, if not thousands of posts discussing these.

If anyone would like to know which drugs grapefruit juice potentiates, check out the 3A4 substrates in this chart. It includes SOME opioids and SOME benzos, not all of either group.
