Hi all, thought I'd say hello. Recovering alcoholic and sufferer of early onset arthritis so I get lots of pain medicine... Have read the forums for yonks but never registered, have some questions (I'll head to the right places for those) so figured it was well past time that I registered as a member.

Welcome to Bluelight! Do you find that the pain meds are getting out of hand or do you take them as prescribed?

Heya, and thanks. I mostly take them as prescribed. If I fancy a little extra buzz I can actually adjust the frequency of my tablets to get a high without changing the overall 24 hourly dose, if that makes sense... it does mean I'll suffer pain for about 16 hours but that's the price I pay.

I deliberately avoid opioids from the doc for pain because I just know I'll abuse them, I used a lot of drugs most of my life, even when I was in the armed forces (20 years ago now) so actually this is one of the least drug use episodes of my life. Don't even smoke weed anymore, and where I live it's basically ignored by the police unless people are being blatantly antisocial.
