Frosty da snowman
Bluelighter
Watching an old woman I saw beauty in her withered face.
Summers hidden in wrinkles
Winter in the cracks
Spring in the laugh lines around her mouth
Falls seemed to drift somewhere above her eyes
Just when the view of the simple elegance of a life lived was becoming to breath taking to hold
She spoke with an ancient well used voice
She spoke of a past where the world seemed younger and more carefree, when newsman gave facts, politicians were loved and new frontiers were being explored.
She told me of the good old days I would someday have.
Loves that must be lost
Pains that must be endured
Joys that will lift the sprit
friends that will make it all worth while.
And people that must be left behind
Finally at the end off all that, when all her stories were all told and left hanging in the air
She saw the fear of my future in my eyes; she smiled and told me the meaning of it all
I just wished she told me how to remember it when I woke up.
