Warrior
At the last, the twilight time
To a stone your shoulders tied
Against the gray sea-trimmed Howth sky
Where crows and single magpies fly
A long fought war so bravely tried
To thwart the certain
With blows of love and passion
Against your endless enemy
A warrior at odds with a sea
And all the while you fought
So resolute and true
For the joy you brought
And a little tent of blue
For just to live
Is all that matters
And before god
Our judgments lie in tatters
He doesn't care what you didn't do
Only that your love was true
...that you didn't fold
Now here we sit, our grief untold
For a crow has lit, upon your shoulder
