WARNING - fentanyl "strips" - EVERYONE READ!

Am I the only one that's absolutely fucking horrified that shit like this is coming out of the keyboard of someone who's a fucking moderator on a "Harm Reduction" board?
I don't care what anyone says. Read through everything on this board. The primary purpose is not harm reduction. It's information about drugs. The harm reduction is definantly there, but it's secondary.
In this particular case, it paints a really good picture of what opiate addiction is about. And I think it would more than scare anyone who has hesitation away. Someone's friend dies and yet this person is still using massive amounts of this drug anyways.
You can sit around and tell someone drugs are bad and cite examples all you want. But real stories say more than anything.

Maybe I'm the only one to notice this but I respect the fact that PhreeX took his friend to the hospital. So many more immature people wouldn't have done this because they wrongly believe that they will go to jail (shows how much some other people care about your life). They just let them "sleep it off" (alcohol poisoning) or hope that they don't die without any medical intervention. If only people realized that you will get in infinitely more trouble by not taking a person to the hospital if they die as a result (criminally negligent homicide, wrongful death, etc).
Sorry for getting carried away, and I realize it didn't change the outcome here, but at least he did everything in his power to save her. Everyone should be willing to do this for their friends.

Hey PhreeX, any info on that purported BL'er who might've OD'ed this week? I'm curious to find out what happened, if it did....

Soviet while I agree with the principle of that statement I hardly think the fact that PhreeX is still using opiates despite the death of a friend is a valid inditement of opiate addiction.
I mean fuck the number of lives claimed per years by automible accidents is TERMENDOUS. Yet it doesn't seem these peoples friends usually stop driving.
I mean there is another possible interpretation. Maybe opiates are so good they are worth the risk and people are just ashamed of being addicts because it is socially unacceptable. I am not adovcating this position just saying that the story in and of itself shouldn't give any more hesitation to the intelligent reader.
Yes PhreeX drove his friend to the hospital. This SHOUlDN'T be praiseworthy. Friends don't leave friends to die. How tough is this to understand? Only complete schmucks don't take their friends, or even complete strangers, to the hospital. Hell at worst you can always lie and say you knew they were doing opiates and found them like this.

I think that giving out information is the only form of harm reduction. If you tell people the truth and leave out any lies you give out the best information on drugs. You talk about them as they really are, not what people claim they are, what people want them to be, what people DON'T want them to be, just as how they are. Then people trust you and can make the decision that's best FOR THEM. Bluelight's about harm reduction and that means telling it how it is.

I like your contribution to these forums quale, but I've gotta agree with Soviet. Who but an addict could possibly indulge in an illicit street drug that he witnessed kill a friend just a day earlier? I wonder how long after the Ativan wore off before Phreex concluded that it was safe for him to use that shit again? Perhaps one just becomes inured to having friends die of drug OD's? I wouldn't know. In my 19 years of drug use, NONE of my friends have overdosed, let alone died.
My intent is not to kick Phreex while he's down, I thoroughly enjoy his wealth of drug knowledge and his adeptness for writing posts that are enjoyable to read (except, of course, when they deliver tragic news).
I just think that Phreex's influence here (and likely with his friends) is a little more significant than even he realizes.
Hopefully as many people learn something from this thread as the number of people who have been educated in effective ways to score drugs and the art injecting oneself.

If people drive to the hospital when their friends are dying from auto accidents I don't see why it should be any differnt with opiate addicts.
It is a risky activity like any other. Rock climbers who return to climbing shortly after the death of friends, or any other non-societally proscribed dangerous activity aren't called addicted by us why should it be any differnt with opiate use?
I agree the fact that the activity is dangerous should give one pause, however, it certainly seems possible to be well aware of the risks and yet choose to engage in it anyway. If you are in fact aware of the risks when these are sometimes realized you should not change your actions. Changing your actions in this case is just proof that either you were not really aware of the risks or you are letting emotions bias your judgements.
I am not addicted to anything but if a friend ODed I think I would immediatly turn to the drug drawer and get fucked up on something

phreex-
did you just walk away from the hospital bills or did you declare bankrupucty? just curious because i'm going through the same thing myself.

Ahh.. faking cancer isnt cake and when yer terminal there are so many obvious signs any first year med student would know to turn me away if I craweled in saying "Oh this end stage overian cancer is just bloody hell" (for more reasons then one, such as not being a woman or being british) .. but this is far more instant and ANYONE can pull it off... if all goes well we are talking a little vacation from the board due to my typing arm being tied up with some IV NARCOTIC LINES (not that it would stop me from typing but I'd rather enjoy it!) ... I would hope for at least a week or so, then like a month of any narcotic I requested...
And it will be on video, posted to Vaaguh's blazing connection...

A legit question...
I am currently running up UN GODLY amounts of medical bills... if it can be billed, well shit, I don't mind 14 X-rays, MRI's, scan, test and every exotic culture on the planet at a cost of 4.7 billion per ER visit if it gets me a shot of fentanyl and some oxycodone to take home.. sure, I might not even be high for the same amount of time I was in the ER but IT DOESNT MATTER .. it's part high, part GAME .. see, the wonderfull thing is you can file for MEDICAL BANKRUPTCY and not the regular ole 'I'm-Flat-Out-Of-Money' type... I didn't know that until recently and thats when "once in a very rare while" turned into the mistake of 13 ER visits in 68 days (which fucked me as I hit 9 DIFFERNT hospitals and a crafty nurse labeled me a "drug seeker") ..

what a bitch! again, i make the point of, you should definately fuck her.

Off subject, but...
I'm suprised nobody else has mentioned that tan Miami powdered dope. Apparently it's been going around like crazy for the past two months. I haven't tried it personally, but someone in DC brought back an ounce a little more than a month ago and I heard it was unbelievably strong.

In response to SovietContin - there has been a similar tan powdered dope in Pittsburgh recently in unmarked stamp bags that is causing overdoses. Any info?

Im sorry I got agree with SqueezeTheShaman.
When a friend dies and you dismiss it as "shit happens" thats when drug abuse has gone too far.
But,, at least he posted it up which might save another life so its not all bad.

Thanks Mash. :) . It's nice to see that someone in this thread agrees with me.
SovietContin is 100% right when he says this board is only here to distribute drug information. The idea of harm reduction (at least to me) is so that people can get that information and use it to minimize the risk to themselves and others as much as possible when they choose to use drugs.
When the group moderator brushes off the death of his "best friend" with the statement "shit happens", well, you're defeating the whole purpose of this board to begin with.
Make no mistake, I read most everything Phreex posts because it's interesting, and he usually gives great information. However, with this thread, I think I've learned everything I'll ever need to know about drug abuse from him.
Yes, I know it's going to piss everyone off, but I'm all about truth. If all the things you've posted in this thread reflect your true views on drug use in your life, then you've got a problem and you seriously need help. Good luck to you Phreex.
Out.

What do you think Dale Earnhard Jr did when his dad died in that accident? Umm well let's see.... oh yeah, he kept racing. Why? because shit happens.
And I'm sure that at the time of the death phreex did anything but dismiss the whole thing as just more shit happening.
ps And isn't the phrase "drug abuse gone too far" just a weeee bit redundant?
pps actually... considering the whole '13 ER visits in 68 days', maybe redundancy is appropriate.
