Warning: Combining lithium with psychedellics is dangerouse

combining lithium with various 2c-x chemicals has a very dangerous result
there is some kind of synergy between them
in one incident an 18mg oral dose of 2c-i (while i was taking lithium) resulted in violent psychosis requiring emergency hospitalization
I would also like to note: i was later told that during this trip, my skin had turned purple/blue and i collapsed several times

another incident (with lithium) less than an hour ago, in which i took ,orally, a 10mg of 2c-e resulted in the following:

the subjective effects were more like a 60mg+ 2c-e experience and increasing rapidly beyond that.
i was given anti-psychotics, which rapidly ended the trip.


I have a lot of experience with 2c-x chemicals and psychedelics in general
these doses without lithium have never caused this sort of reaction.

if one is taking lithium, id recommend against using 2c-x chems or any psychedelics

I was planning to take a very low dose(3mg) of 2c-e with lithium to confirm the synergy, but after reading the responses below, i have edited this post to say i WILL NOT combine lithium with psychedelics again.

Do some searches next time... research ANY combinations you plan on doing. Its stupid shit like this that makes drugs illegal. Dont take lithium with any other drug. At all. Its not fucking safe man... god damn.

There is no need to confirm, seriously stop experimenting. It's well-known that lithium is contraindicated with LSD and I don't think it's sensible to check other psychedelics to see how broad this range is. Clearly serotonergic agonism is what's the problem and that is what psychedelics have in common.

What is the point of this thread, now that people tried to make it clear not to continue?

I did this on three occasions many years ago when I first started taking psychedelics. Somehow I thought tripping was supposed to be that intense. Once with LSD and twice with mushrooms. I did experience some seizures during two of the three. I am lucky to be alive for sure, and I have been very changed by those experiences. It is pretty obvious that this combination is NOT TO BE REPEATED EVER! But it does make me very curious about the method of action in how they interact. There's something very different about this combination, it's on a whole different level than any other trip, even copious amounts of many psychedelics at once. I guess nobody knows really how lithium works and we don't understand how psychedelics work either so I guess this question will be left unanswered. I actually asked Shulgin what he thought about it at a Q & A during a conference and he had no idea.
