SWIM (someone who is not me) has been "abusing" Adderall IR and also XR, via insufflation & also via swallowing, for approximately 4-6 years now. SWIM says this all started because his best friend was very ADHD & had been prescribed since a very young age; however, he disliked taking his medications, but was an individual fond of sharing. SWIM claims this recreational use of Adderall began around the age of 15-16 for him. Initially, SWIM's abuse of Adderall was very seldom and occurred rather infrequently. However, he soon realized that Adderall would become his drug of choice (as well as cannabis!).
As time progressed, SWIM says that he began to slowly but surely ease his way into doing larger and larger amounts of Adderall. It also took quite some time before his insufflation began. In fact, at first, SWIM never foresaw ever snorting ANYTHING. But over time he convinced a doc he was ADHD himself, and obtained a fairly heavy script for Adderall XR. Then later, after switching docs for an unrelated reason, he was moved onto an even heavier dose but this time it was IR. Now he is prescribed 40mg of the IR per day and still abusing frequently. Frequently in doses of 60mg-120mg until his script is gone. When it runs out, he doesn't seem to have that difficult of a time.
Anyways, SWIM has telekinetically communicated with me and asked that I post on these forums in hopes of learning more about what all this abuse could be doing to his body--as he has noticed some seemingly minor things, aside from a short stint with psychosis (which apparently sucked for SWIM). SWIM is aware of the basics, but would like to learn more. In particular, could this abuse of Adderall for so long, and in large amounts, for fairly consistent periods of time, be the cause of on/off skin turning overly yellow and/or red? And what is this? Also, what is the effect this will have on the lungs? What about long-term implications? And anything else.
SWIM appreciates any help. Also he'd like to hear from others who are in a similar boat, or know of folks who are.
Thanks!
