Okay, this is what I've discovered from my own experience
I get very anxious on weed (which is why I don't smoke it anymore)
-On less than half an eighth of mushrooms (less than 1.75 grams), I have almost no anxiety
-On more than half an eighth of mushrooms (more than 1.75 grams) I often have "bad trips" or at least uncomfortable ones.
-I find that, in the past, I would have the worst trips at times when I would just eat them without any kind of intention, plan, or respect for the plant.
-Difficult trips are almost guaranteed to happen at HIGHER doses, but you can maintain a good mindset and actually get a lot of benefit out of it, as long as you believe that you can learn something from it and that this learning will improve your thoughts and improve your life. I would suggest....
-Taking about 0.75 or 1 gram of mushrooms to start (about half of half an eighth... it'll probably be about two or three caps/stems, but weighing it out is a good idea!)
-Writing a letter to the mushrooms or stating your intention. This might sound cheesy to some people, but I find that it really helps if you develop a RELATIONSHIP with mushrooms, and not just use them to get "fucked up". Your stated intention can be as simple as "Hi, I'm ---, and I'm really happy to meet you. I respect your wisdom, and I would like to be your friend. Today I would like to discover the beauty of nature and friendship."
-NOT using any other drugs with the mushrooms the first time you do them. If you want to really feel them out, don't take weed/E/nitrous, etc. However, the comedown can be physically uncomfortable sometimes, so it's a good idea to drink some calming tea like chamomile or valerian root. And take a shower to get the extra toxins out of your system faster.
