Well you're also conveniently ignoring the definitive caveat in the post that said if I felt hard done by I would have complained through the official channels. I broke the rules, the ban was fair enough.

The fact that we're running a system in here whereby one accidental imbed instead of hotlink in the wrong thread is enough to constitute an infraction that tips over in to a ban is nonsense though. Discretion and a warning doesn't go amiss when I'm clearly not a repeat offender just clicked the wrong button.

Two days ban from Bluelight is not something I find difficult to fit in to my routine though. I went and cried about it on an unmodded board and endded up finding some funny information out about a member on here through another ex BL mod that posts there so everything worked out well in the end. I had my cry elswhere.

Perhaps we could have moderators elected by the members, rather than by the current mods and admins. Why not try it, this time, as an experiment?

It wouldnt be a 'popularity contest' as such, people could come to their conclusions for reasons other than how much they like or dislike a particular contendor. There's allready almost a dozen names in the pot, plenty to start drawing up a poll, or an "election" with. The votes could be either public or private.
