Bluelight Crew
Enlighten is hoping to expand its operations into South Australia. We have tested at a few Adelaide events already but it has been the Melbourne crew coming over to do it. We feel the time has come for a local crew to be set up.
The sort of people we are looking for are dedicated and knowledgable proponents of harm reduction who are willing to take some risks. We have to be honest about this, what we do is illegal. Even tho South Australia has been one of the more accomodating states in Australia in regard to pill testing it is still going to be a long time before what we do is legal.
Enlighten is an activist group. We are an all volunteer, grass roots initiative of self-motivated and self-reliant people. We do not have insurance, we do not Workcover. However we do have a bail fund
If this doesn't deter you, and you feel you've got what it takes then write me an email ( [email protected] ) and introduce yourself. We will be visiting Adelaide in early December to test at a major rave event (observe the protocol and don't mention it by name, please?) and we would dearly love to some local members present to train. We have been doing this for over 5 years now and have many systems in place, and now that the bulk of our work is typed directly into a laptop it is only our testing protocols that will need to be learnt. A knowledge of drugs and basic harm reduction is necessary, of course. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them here or in email. If the question is "Will you be setting up a chapter in WA?NSW?QLD?" then the answer is no for now, and the forseeable future.
