add some weight on shoulders
from something nothing really
staying up a little longer
to ride the rest of my clock's rotation.

eyes out its black existence fades and then comes back
a new day.

a new way with a canvas not too late to change
it's practically blank
so you, me, i, we.. we continue on painting
even when it's all given up there's another portrait portrayed
looking back, giving up was colored greyscale.

paint the portrait black because my dreams need that for backing
im awake now, here's where i'm glad to be.

i made the appointment just didnt go where i pointed
doctor's office second notice saying i didnt show up
driving by the sights fly shy on the sides
straighten up when i look straight
disappear when i look away

finishing up what's left of this one
closing the eyes closes the mind
rem dreamstate noticed at times
when not noticed there's nothing to say
