So I called my Walgreen's pharmacist today to make sure he would have my script of generic Oxycontin 40 Mg Apotex ready on the 1st. He said that he has not been able to get them from the warehouse the past few times he has ordered them and said that he could get me the 20s only. He also said that he wasn't sure if they would be able to get 40s anymore and that I may just need to accept the substitute.

Does anyone have any info on what is going on with the shortage of the 40 mg generic dose? He said he called all the walgreens in a 50 mile radius and could only locate one place that had them.

I am starting to get worried because every month its a nightmare trying to find them and I am wondering if they have completely depleted their supply at the main warehouse for Walgreens of the 40mg doseage.

I appreciate all responses...pertaining to this topic please ;)

Thanks

OC type generic discussion
Please refrain from creating threads discussing that status of the more easily abused OxyContin generics based on the old OC formula. Posting hearsay information and speculating about their status isn't helpful. Not to mention the whole topic barely skates as HR advice to begin with.

HOWEVER, if you have a press release or an article on the matter, please post and discuss it in DiTM.

just reminding you of what is and isn't allowed about the new OC/OP situation..
im not saying you did anything wrong, or that im reporting you (cause im not).. im just relaying that message in case you missed or haven't seen it.

Odd, I just recently talked to someone who was unable to get generic OC from their pharmacy and ended up paying mad cash for the name-brand.

You may be on to something. I think said pharmacy also called around the surrounding area, and could not find any.

Thanks HOOD... there have been several threads discussing this and several threads discussing this have been CLOSED.

Search for those threads and see what was said in there about the state of generic availability as well as why this is not allowed here.
