Hello everyone; please forgive me if my questions have already been asked/answered on a preceding thread. Moderators, please forgive me if this thread needs to be merged.
I've been on 70mg Vyvanse for about a month now and, while it helps in the area of productivity and pretty much everything else it's advertised to do, I have noticed that its effects always seem to only last 2-3 hours, at most. BIG PROBLEM.
I tried drinking the famous baking soda / water combo 60 minutes prior to dosing, and it didn't seem to do anything; it actually feels like the Vyvanse is even less effective than it has been on previous days. I tried TUMS; same result.
My question is: Am I using the baking soda (1/4 teaspoon) and water combination wrong? If so, what can I do to potentiate this drug that really needs to work much closer to its advertised time? Should I ask my Dr. for a booster such as Adderall IR or Straterra (or any other booster that somebody could name)? Any other suggestions?
Additional info about me: I was diagnosed as having extremely severe ADD at the tender young age of 33 (sarcasm). During my dr-ordered ADD 'brain response' test, my brain measured a -20.65 (normal ranges were from -1.8 to 1.8! Ugh) My doc relayed to me that, out of the near four thousand patients he's seen, I rank among the worst 3 (I didn't know whether to feel honored or depressed). I'm starting to believe, since I am one of the EXTREME cases, not even 70MG of Vyvanse is working proper for me. Would anyone recommend upping my Vyvanse dosage (I know 70MG is already high for most docs) or switching to Adderall instead? Has anyone had similar experiences and/or advice that they could share to help me get more out of this medicine?
P.S. I experience no euphoria on Vyvanse. None. Good thing my original intention was/is not to get tweaked. I need it for focus, my line of work is in data/business analysis.
Thanks in advance.
