Stimulants Vyvanse vs. Adderall XR (for ADHD treatment)

i have just been switched from 30mg. adderall xr to 50mg. vyvanse. is the vyvanse going to be more "fluid", or consistant than adderall xr or have the shitty highs and lows of adderall xr?

what are the differences between these two amphetamine based meds?
 
i take 2 30 mgs and im all jacked up for a good 4 or 5 hours. it does have its highs and lows. idk ive barely ever taken adderal but i think there about the same. one thing though is dont take em everyday you build a tolerance. i take em like every 3 or so days. you prob know all this but w.e. i like them for the most part it helps me get shit done.

The buzz is much smoother and "fluid" like you said.

The difference between these is that adderall XR is a mix of amphetamine salts with both isomers of amphetamine.

Vyvanse is a pro-drug of dextroamphetamine and therefore cannot be snorted or injected. It must pass through the liver before becoming dextroamphetamine and it releases slowly through out the day, not two doses that release 6 hours apart.

Vyvanse lasts around 12 hours give or take an hour or so.

The comedown lasts a bit longer but it is much smoother than the adderall "crash", cuz literally it's a crash while the Vyvanse comedown is very gradual.
 
Vyvanse is indeed a better choice for some in ADHD but if you don't need to take it daily then follow the previous advice as far as tolerance goes. I hated Adderall. Good luck to ya.
 
i agree vyvanse is a much longer acting like no real like up as fuck an hour then down couple hours later its constant 12 hour pre good buzz but trust me with this dont chase that buzz if ya do thnk mabe buzz b better if more throughout day i was on 70mgs for awhile and id eat them fukers then seriously the come down was like compin off dope but it is a very good drug used right i can go through most my day with vy and keep that concentration and wne i was on addys it was always up and kinda down and then wen it wore off evan if used n right amounts where kinda shatta and i will admit if u do abuse either vys twak ya out pre fukn crazy like not suggestion idk im tired as shit now but if any ?s im pre up on my meds so ask anythng and wen i have time ill give ya any honest answer straight up k thnx
 
We can't tell you which you will like more, many people like addy more and many vyvanse more.
That being said, 50mg of vyvanse is at most 16mg d amphetamine, while your adderall was 30mg of 70(ish, can't remember exactly right now)percent d amphetamine and 30(ish) l-amphetamine. That'd be something like 21mg d amphetamine, 9mg l amphetamine. I think you'll feel a decent amount less from the vyvanse at that dose, but who knows.

They always prescribe too much adderall anyways, and I'm always surprised how many docters have NO idea what a starting dose should be, and what comparable amounts of vyvanse and adderall are.
 
I am awaiting a diagnosis by my doc on whether or not I need meds for ADHD...What's the main difference between Addy's and Dex? Aside from chemical structure, is there any glaring difference?

soo, if you wanna go with one or the other, i would go with vyvanse. if you dont have ADHD or ADD, take 80 - 100 mg (depending on your body type), if you do have ADHD or ADD (like me) i would take 120 mg - 140 mg (once again depending on your body type. i stand at just 5' 2" and weight only 125 and am a girl, so i only take about 120). you need more vyvanse to get high then adderal, but the high can last up to i believe 16 hours. i wouldnt recommened doing vyvanse too often, cuz the come down after being on it for days, feels like your over dosing. so becareful with it. PLEASE DONT DO IT MORE THEN ONCE A WEEK, or you will become extreamly weak and exuasted.
 
Man i've only tried vyvanse maybe 2X at doses of 140mg....to little or no effect

That was before i was diagenosed with add and got prescribed Adderall xr 30..

If your looking for a noticable up then adderall is better


You see, Vyvanse is a prodrug. L-dexamfetamine.. It's the Left-handed isomer of Dextroamphetamine, if im not mistaken, and is metabolized at a Constant rate in the body which makes it not only Controlled release, but also harder to abuse..

I remember my last year of high school My buddy was selling his 70's 5$ a pop!!!??:?
I talked him into 2$ a peice, bought 2 and ate them with no real noticable effects...went to sleep in class like usual, ate lunch etc..

On adderall i cant sleep in class, and eat hardly anything all day...just as example of the differences in the amount of CNS stimulation
