Okay I was given vyvance for add several months back by my psych. I started with 30's, which helped some but also gave me uncomfortable side effects such as, moderate anxiety, appetite suppression, plus they seem to have worn off after just a few hours, even though they took a few just to kick in.
He bumped me up to 40s last week. (Sill a low dose I know) The side effects have actually almost completely disapeared and it controls my add like a charm, but it still wears off much sooner than advertised, then I'm back to my old a motivated lazy self.
I have researched and seen several post with similar issues. I hate to start to chug energy drinks or some kind of OTC stimulant to prolong it. I have pre hypertension which is well controlled by atenolol. I also have a script for clonazepam to take as needed. I understand it being a pro-drug there isn't much you can do before dosing to enhance it, or after for that matter. For my hearts sake, IDK if I should ask Doc for a dose increase? Would that prolong it? Anybody else had issues, I know some have?
Or has anybody had any experiences with any of these new otc add meds and know the effect on the heart? I'm 32, 200lbs, in general good health. I have a tendency to drink heavily, however that has been mitigated since starting the vyvanse. I also am scripted lortab as need for a minor back issue, not that I think that has anything to do with it. Any advice as far as how I can improve performance without effecting bp or anything heart related would be quite welcome. At least so far the vyvance has not increased my heart rate or bl. Thanks.
