Vyvanse compared to generic dexedrine IR

I just got diagnosed with adult adhd and my doc gave me a script for vyvanse 20mg but when i went to go get it my insurance was being a fuck tard and made me have to get a hold of my doc so i could tell him to call my insurance company and explain why i need vyvanse rather then the 10 other adhd meds that can be sold as gereric meds. So im going to my doc in a bout an hour and im going to tell him that i would like to try dexedrine rather then the vyvanse soi dont have to pay for it. Now is this question going to be out of line somehow? i feel like if its the same medication just different delivery methods then whats the difference? Is dexedrine known for abuse? I dont what to come off like im mad that i got vyvanse because i cant crush it up or what not...if anyone understands this dilemma and can give me advice id appreciate it. Also i was wondering how hard it is to get desoxyn scripted.....is that stuff just unheard of when it comes to treating adhd? Ive read that very few people can get it.

Idk why you're already going for meth dude.
Dexedrine is what the internet says is the best, but Adderall is where all the euphoria is and it is pretty cheap.
I get Adderall IR and Dexedrine ER.
Vyvanse isn't so bad from what I hear, and I know my friends crush up Dex and snort it but it can also be Adderall they do it to.

so your saying dexedrine doesnt produce the euphoria adderall does? i was thinking that adderall everyday would be too strong of a stim to use daily....to crude with the levo-amphetamine. But is it really tru dex doesnt give u the euphoria adderall does? i mean dont getme wrong ive taken adderall and i know what the euphoria feeling is but with that euphoria sometimes comes anxiety..i was under the impression that dex was adderall just without the bad amphetamine (levo)

That's kinda irrelevant? This thread doesn't seem to be about subjective euphoria of dl-amp vs d-amp. I would like to hear comparisons of dex er (generic or not) vs vyvanse.

I think vyvanse provides a more mental stimulation, without a big euphoric/jittery rush or overstimulation. Dexedrine and especially Adderall both have a pronounced physical aspect over vyvanse, but vyvanse last quite a bit longer and can be used as a tool more effectively. The amphetamines are more euphoric.

Yeah... I believe euphoria was completely irrelevant to the question of the OP. Not to mention, IME Dexedrine is a much cleaner stim than Adderall. I HATE Adderall. L-amp has a much more jittery, dirty stimulation than pure D-amp.

Vyvanse is Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate (LDX or L-lysine-D-amphetamine), a prodrug to dextroamphetamine. The dextroamphetamine is attached to lysine, and after oral ingestion, lisdexamfetamine is converted to l-lysine, a naturally occurring essential amino acid, and d-amphetamine, which is responsible for the drug’s activity upon cleavage of the lysine portion of the molecule. Lysine is actually very good for you and is calming. LDX was developed with the goal of providing a long duration of effect that is consistent throughout the day, with reduced potential for abuse. The d-amph does not become available through crushing, simple extraction, or taking it by other ROAs. Vyvanse is basically a timed-release d-amph with an unusual mechanism for that timed-release. Dexedrine is regular release dextroamphetamine.

Methamphetamine is often difficult to get prescribed as it has a bad reputation and is considered to have a greater abuse potential.
