Vyvanse + Ativan (Lorazepam) ?

So my question is when taking Vyvanse, which my rec. doses are around 120-160+ mg , if I take some Loraze while I'm feeling all speedy n tweaked out will tha benzo counteract those feelings & bring on more sedation n sluggish feelings / anti-focused ? Iv heard of taking benzo's while on the COMEDOWN of an amphetamine which makes sense (helps sleep ) but if taken during the onset & peak time that my Vyvanse is working will it depotentiate it i guess ?

Provided you're not taking insane dosages of the lorazepam, it will reduce the anxiety and tweaky-ness without knocking down the focus or motivation.

Ativan (lorazepam) doesn't last as long as Vyvanse does, however, so you may have to re-dose. But yes, it is safe and if you use low doses, it is effective and reducing the amphetamine (Vyvanse) induced anxiety and jitters.

Not a problem. I actually use lorazepam with dextroamphetamine (the active metabolite of Vyvanse) quite often, although I usually use it on the comedown. I've had success with longer-acting benzodiazepines such as clonazepam (Klonopin) or diazepam (Valium) on top of the dextroamphetamine (meaning I took the long-acting benzo at the same as the amphetamine and it lasted longer then the amphetamine did). In fact, some doctors prescribe a combination of benzos and amphetamines, using the amphetamines to treat one condition and then the benzo to counter-act the negative side effects of the amphetamine.

Your mileage may vary, but lorazepam is a pretty under-rated benzo, don't let anybody tell you it won't work at all. You just have to find what combination and dosages work for you.

Yeah I'll second that, benzos can be very helpful for amphetamine jitters. I use dextroamphetamine and xanax but it's the same idea. Right now I just use it after the amphetamines have worn off but I've combined and it works fine.

Thanks guys for all the advice. Another question, kinda off topic to what my question was, but which dose of Lorazepam would be equal to a nice Xanax buzz? 2-3 mg of Xanax has me pretty barred out.
