Vyvanse alternatives

My Dr scripts me 50mgs of Vyvanse and 10mgs of IR Adderall. The V is really expensive so I am going to ask for a dfferent med. What is a better alternative, and less expensive.
 
I'm sure the patent for amphetamine sulfate has run out. Can you ask for generics at a pharmacy in the USA (even if you are prescribed a brand)?
 
Also, is it common for people to get two prescriptions for similar medications, one instant and one prolonged release from the same doctor (for ADD)?
 
Dr scrited XR30 in place of the Vyvanse...... asked me how many I wanted lol. Thought about saying 60, maybe at the next apnt. Asked about the dex, she said it was too addictive.. no suprise seeing she's also a sub Dr. Just hoping the Xrs dont last as long as the V's

i'm Rx'ed temazepam and clonazepam and i buy extra temazepam and diazepam from a dealer, as well as oxys for when the amps wear off.

i'm pretty much all good right now.%)
 
I've read where other people are scripted an extended med along with an IR for afternoon in lots of the ADD forums. I don't know how many Drs would be willing to do it. I asked my Dr for one after trying the extended med by itself for a few months.

I'm pretty sure my Dr would have scripted the dexies if she didn't currently have a lady/patient that's hooked on it. I can't see it being any more addicting/hard to get off than adderall, ritalin or vyvanse could be for some people.IMO She probably just doesn't want to stop getting spun from railing fat lines. Sucks for me seeing the generic xrs werent that cheap.

Never hurts to ask, and seeing as my Dr also scripts me tex and ativan, I'm not about to start bitching. Going to give the Xrs a few weeks. It's got to be better than the ever lasting vyvanse. Good effects wear off after 5 or 6 hours, although it could easily make sleep difficult for 14+ hrs. That combined with the high cost is reason enough to switch.
 
Dexedrine + Ativan is a nice script to have, and I agree with you that Vyvanse just hangs around way longer than it should, that's the main complaint I have with it. That and I got really bad stomach cramps and wasn't able to eat anything the whole day I took it, food tasted like ash in my mouth, horrible.
 
Ment to say subutex+ativan. which for me is also a good script to have. Not too many Drs that write for sub will even consider benzos.
 
I just went to the dr today and told him the V wasn't lasting long enough (which its not) and explained I have to wait almost 3 hours before even taking it for it to last me until 4. All he did was up the V by 10mg how could I go about getting him to add something IR?
